@crobles123able Unfortunately David Crosby didn't go on the tour.....saw this tour live...it was a good compromise vocally without Crosby's harmony part.....now it's RIP Gene !!!!!
@crobles123able This is Gene's best song and it makes me sad that he's not there. McGuinn Crosby Hillman do a great job here and I think Gene would have been proud!
The pictures in this video are from The Byrds reunion they did around 2000 or so, which I believe was strictly for a charity event. Notice the pictures, Chris Hillman has gained considerable weight since the early 90s Byrds reunion with Roger and David and since his years with The Desert Rose Band.
@byrdsmaniac ...Gene Clark was not dead when this series of concerts took place. He was snubbed by McGuinn/Hillman/Clark, who did this series of concerts expressly as a reaction to Clark and Clarke touring as The Byrds without them. The three did these concerts as an attempt to secure the rights to the name so that Clark/Clarke could no longer legally do so. The attempt failed, though Crosby has since accomplished securing the rights to the name.
@MrDavearama Whoa, easy now. The best high harmony singer in rock history, writer of many great songs and deliverer of one seminal solo album, If I could Only Remember My Name. If he was loathsome to you personally you might want to consider that he may have been having a bad day, in his drug phase and all.
Long live Gene Clark!

McGuinn should have just played his Rickenbacker and let Gene write and sing the songs for The Byrds. :)

My favorite song by the Byrds, my favorite American band.

This version is closer to the one Tom Petty covered on his 1989 "Full Moon Fever" album.

So what would you have preferred? Gene was dead.

@byrdsmaniac lulz it says in the description that he died in 1991. thought this was from '89...

@ejectorerector My mistake. Even so: Gene had had much of his stomach and intestines
removed at that point. He might as well have been dead.

@byrdsmaniac they should have let chris hillman sing it
