  • Wouldn't have minded seeing him in the Braves uniform if Fredi Gonzalez turned it down.

  • getting old sucks

  • Lou, you are a YANKEE, not a Cub, Ray, Mariner, etc. I really believe you were hated for that reason. Oh, yeah and your big mouth!!! We will always cheer you at the Stadium. Yeah! That one.

  • @Leonnidik Fuck the Yankees. Cubs Fucking Rule. He saved the best team for last to manage.

  • @kosimitz - As for the poor CUBS, yes, I won't pour salt on your 105 yr. old and counting wound. If sweet Lou goes to Cooperstown, it will be as a Yankee. Trust me You just might have a another Yankee taking over your beloved team soon.

  • Poor Lou. Coming from a Cardinals fan, this may sound traitor-ish, but I don't care. I loved Piniella, and this made me a little emotional myself. He was one of my favourite managers. He was a cool guy who knew what he was doing. And of course watching his rants were amusing, lol.

I'll miss him, and I hope he has a happy, healthy life outside baseball.

  • @stlfatman Well said. I always appreciate people who are objective and sensible enough to see above rivalries. With Lou's departure, the game of baseball is losing someone and something special. I was at the Cubs-Cards game on 7/24. It's an awesome time in the bleachers with the rivalry the two teams have. Awesome fans and great laughs. Peace.

  • I'll remember this dude when he was a player, for my Yanks, and even tho he wasn't a home-run threat like Jax or even like Tex,and A-Rod,he came through in a clutch when the Yanks needed him the most, and hated him so much when he was the Manager of the M's.

His career was done when he came to the Cubs, and I don't even hate the Cubs.I hate the Roid-Sux,Angels,Orioles,Rays,M's,Marlins,and the Mets

I was hoping that the Yanks would play the Cubs in the World Series this Year, and beat them.

  • @ejtimm79- How could you say Pinella's career was over when he came to The Cubs. They won the division the first 2 years and his first year they ran the table from the beginning of the year to the end of the year in first place. They even ended up with the best record in the national league by far and even had a better record then The Yankees. People forget because The Cubs turned back into The Cubs the last 2 seaons, but in 2007 they were the best team in baseball in the regular season.

  • @TheLostIdea Like I said it was over when he came to the Cubs!

People don't forget you when you win W.S.titles,but the Cubs with the best record in the N.L.,and a N.L. central title, but NO W.S.Title to show, for it,so all of that means nothing,if you don't get to the Big Dance, and win the Big Dance.

Look,my Yanks had the best record in baseball of 2002,and they were derailed by those bastard Angels, but no one talks about the Yanks having the best record in 2002,they talked about the Angels:( !
