Basicly, it just renders things as opaque with a 1bit alpha mask, so it can use the opaque texture shaders over it, Fullbright alpha is still borked if I remember right..
there was an effect you guys did in curious a couple of weeks ago that impressed me but sadly what was being used I can not haz lol. This is so killer. btw moy when I drag my ass in world and spot you next got couple of questions for ya.
Did you have to mess around with it much to get the horror movie look? It would kinda seem ironic and hilarious if that's how it looks by default... but every video I've seen so far of this shadow stuff has been as dark as the fuck
Well, it doesn't take much to get things dark on the shadowdraft/renderpipeline clients, It also shows off light alot better when it's dark, There's lots of videos I've seen of it that isn't dark though, And by default it's just as bright as the standard SL clients, And the shadows are very very faint unless you turn down ambient lighting..
FINALLY WE HAVE HALF-LIFE-LIKE QUALITY IN SL! \o/

Moy, if you want to know the model of the CPU just get that "Everest" software, you can see all the hardware of your computer.

I have a 64x2 6000+ (clearly my bigest bottle neck on this machine)
3.0ghz (10multiplyer*300mhz HT from 15x200)

How did you solve alpha textures disappearing when shadows are on? All built viewers i find don't have them enabled on renderdeffered.
