  • Lovely, lovely, lovely. A side note: they stayed at my apartment once in the 80s, when they played a gig in St. Louis. As humans, they were also lovely, lovely, lovely.

  • I saw these guys in a bar in LA...I think it was 1984 or 1985...My cousin gave me his ID to get in. I remember seeing John Doe from X and that guy from the Blasters in line to see the show and I was like WHOA! These guys are seeing this band too? I wish I could remember where it was....

  • Great times and great music.

  • This song takes me to a different, simple place every time I hear it.

  • This song reminds me of playing guitar with my best friend...we learned to play together, and we still play together now...

THIS IS BOB DYLAN TO ME!

    Yes! :)

  • "real names be truth"

  • @TinoMacAndCheese Same here only my friend plays drums and I play bass. We've been playing since we were freshman in high school. We have a band now but this song brings a tear to my eye when I think of all the good times we had.

  • wow watt is young and skinny, yet still flyin the flannel... and occasional puffy lips. billy zoom, not john doe...

  • Man d.Boon made it look so easy to make that fucking thing sing with his fingers

God I miss him and the Music he would be making now would be something only left to the imagination

  • @JerkoffPaul word.. wasn't even born until two months before his death, though it feels like i always knew him. :(

  • fucking classic and hugely inspirational

  • Attention Mike Watt had his and the Stooges gear stolen in Canada a few weeks back keep your eyes peeled

  • I had the pleasure of seeing this band in 1984. They passed around the ballots. D was so charming "Hello Ladies, might I interest you in some...art." It was so cheesy, but so cute. He put his arms around us and steered us into the art area. We wanted to buy something so badly, but we were sorely broke, and didn't even pay that night to get into the club.

  • One of the most amazing songs ever. Makes me want to start a band right now.

  • if you dont like the Minutemen, you havent got a soul.

  • Even though I wasn't around at this great time of US underground music, I so feel like I'm in some basement watching these guys when I hear this song. I envy anyone who saw them.

  • or does d boon mean were deep fried and meaty?

  • Best band of the 80s. Double Nickles on the Dime is one of the best rock and roll albums of all time. A sound investment, kiddies. Trust me.

  • Years and years after I didn't have a cassette player in my car, I still always had my Minuteman tape in the glove compartment. This was my favorite of their songs. So pure.
