  • He is so much like Jaco was, but, if I remember...he plays a fretted bass

  • insane men!!! this is sick!!! in the best way possible!

  • I could have sworn I heard a fragment of the nutcracker song by Tchaikovsky at the end, nintendo style

  • @kurosevic I know what you mean, I think it's in there too.

  • whoa get outta town!

  • すげぇええ・・・・

    テクニックがテクニックのためにあらず、表現のためのテクニックであること。

    極めるとこうも自由になれるんだなぁ。

  • so amazing

  • In my opinion he's Jimi Hendrix on the bass guitar

  • @TannerStreeter7 Your a stupid fag your not even close

  • @TannerStreeter7 lol, jimi was cool and all, but this guy is a beast and jimi's like a little mouse in comparison... i mean jimi is one of the greatest song writers of his era, but this guys skills way surpass him.

  • 4 People are racist

  • what bass tuning is he using?

  • @jonathang145 standard

  • Man that cat sure can jam!

  • Hahahahahaha WHAT

  • the only reason someone would dislike this is coz they hate victor wooten for giving us the feeling that we need a zillion years(if not more) to catch up to his level of comfort while playing

  • He seems to be having a bad night.

  • I'm glad he knows all of his classical music too. Mixing in Grieg, Rossini, and Tchaikovsky with a funk rendition of a Beatles song is rather amazing.

  • how does one even begin to learn how to play like victor wooten?

  • @draciel80 learn to play piano, then move what you learn on there to the bass.....that's how he learned his tapping, root/bass on the left hand, lead on the right. and even understanding that i'm COMPLETELY LOST

  • @draciel80 Start when you are 2 years old.

  • I hate you Victor for being so goddamn talented. My mind caved in because it just couldn't handle this much awesomness

  • HOLY FUCK.

    HE BLOWS MY MINDDDDDDDDD

  • Victor is a Maestro, i wish i could play like that

  • The # 1

  • what was the theme song that he mixed in their?

  • @hvacbassist77

it's a song from Peer Gynt

  • His playing is very dexterous but does nothing for me emotionally.

  • @pjbrubak I would suggest watching Victor's Amazing Grace rendition in that case, it's phenomenal.

  • CGDA IS THAT THE TUNE OF THIS SONG ???

  • @skaterope ADGC is the tuning.

  • what

    a

    legend

  • i wish i had his skillz.... but of course he would still have the skillz he already has :D

  • @goatcheese514

ill admit, hes a good bassist, but i still hate him. but i done envy him

  • I suck at bass... :(

  • @Detoxiphy69

me too, but we can try!!

  • how is called the last piece? 3:43

  • idk why, but i hate victor wooten...

  • O yes!! Thats sounds just like a norwegian wood!=)

  • @tmvestbo Yeah, you hear this in woods all around Norway.:p

  • musical orgasm

  • wow. this is great. :)

  • Makes it look so easy...

  • Awesome Spiderman jumper =)

  • yea hes a super hero himself..... i think all supermen have a club ..... vic would be in it with all of them lol

  • I think this is sloppy because he usually plays it on a different bass

  • hehe no man, because wasn't the right day XD

  • @zeppelinfreak51 So he has to play it on the same bass to make it sound tight to you?

  • @JPastorius3

No, but if you were a musician youd know what its like to play something on a certain instrument a lot and then switch. Its just sloppy cause your not used to it

  • @thebassiestbassist I am a musician. You don't know anything about me so don't say stuff like that. I manage to swap between playing 4 and 5 strings, 6 strings, guitars, basses, uprights and wider necks with only about 5 minutes between playing each to adapt.

  • @JPastorius3 that doesn't sound conceded at all...haha...but no I agree with you that the exact instrument should definitely not be a big deal to a good musician, but you do have to admit if you have one guitar you play a lot...theres an adjustment period when you switch to a different instrument. I mean, I think every musician has their "Baby" which plays for them like no other, licks flow forth like nectar and ambrosia from the gods. Very powerful the bond between musician and instrument

  • Hmmm where is his Tenor Bass doesn't he usally play this song on his Tenor bass?

  • Yeah, but he can do it in a different key on this bass. It's really just a fifth down.

  • he has performed this better

Still impressive but it in truth is one of the weaker times he's done it

How much does that say about his skill lol

Wow I've never seen anyone ele play like that nt even jaco, marcus or stanley and it's nt even victors best haha

  • damn

  • The God of Bass.

  • JACO FTW!

  • Jaco kicked ass... Wish he was still around rocking the bass

  • end part is soooo funny hahah :D

    gj vic !

  • 2:16-2:46...Fuckin Crazy

  • 3:12 what is that tune called irealy want to learn it

  • Norweigan Wood (this bird has flown_) by the Beatles

  • The Hall of The Mountain King...something like that.

  • In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg i believe

  • nice spider-man shirt vic

  • To be honest he's probably one of the most accurate and skilled bassist's out there. No person can just say, oh he's sloppy because he's not 100% Accurate, because it's not technically possible, no one is perfect and obviously he can't hit every last note without some error.

  • he was playin notes out of key on purpose. using it as a transition to his next part. he likes makin his performances into a show to entertain his views. plus most of what he does is improv. on the songs he has already so its not going to be perfect.

  • Brand new Strings on that bass. You can hear the crisp

  • love puttin new strings on my stingray it sound beutifull

  • Very nice :)

  • I think that he usualy plays this song on a tenor bass (not tune the same) an thats why it dousn't sound as it's suposed to. It's also a crappy microphone.

  • he knows.

  • Bo Diddley

  • Bo Diddley

  • i love this bass solo

  • I think the members of the Beatles, both alive and dead, would love what Victor did with their song.

  • @Jimmytuba08

    i dont

  • @GrapeVine921 While I don't agree with what you say, sir, I will defend to the death your right to say it!

  • @Jimmytuba08

your muc nicer that what other people would say here on youtube!

  • @GrapeVine921 Thank you! :-)

  • @Jimmytuba08

well ALOT of peeps on here are douches

  • @GrapeVine921 Be that as it may, you have to let it roll off like water off a duck's ass.

  • i love this guy so much

  • the most funniest post in the whole youtube I've ever seen

  • I love his bass.

  • Can someone PLEASE tell me if there is either one of his solo albums or a Bela Fleck album with this song on it? I gotta pick it up this song is sooo nasty! thanx!

  • He recorded it on the album "What did he say ?"

  • this is good

  • i have the same amp he's usin but i dont like his tone here... but it could just be the recording i guess.

  • ouch messed up a bit but still makes up for it with sheer talent eh

  • jesus.

  • god hes cool

  • How could a man be so good?

  • hes a robot or somethin

  • or maybe a alien?!?!?!

  • to even say that the man is a robot is an insult to him

  • I agree with you. He's a TRUE musician..not a robot.

  • I was there! hahahah who is this? I don't know if you attended the camp but i was there.... yeah so whos this! haah

  • victor wooten??... as the name of the video suggests........

  • im pretty sure he meant who recorded the video

  • victor wooten is amazing

  • Awesome. He messed up a bit on the Norwegian wood part, but damn, he made up for it with those awesome part at the end...
