Hohenheim came prepared big time. He thwarted the plan that devil had set into motion. Scar's activation of the Reverse Transmutation Circle was an amazing sight. He learned the true meaning of his being saved from death by his older brother's sacrifice. The dwarf in the flask made the biggest mistake of his life by underestimating the Ishvalans. Scar's brother made sure that no one could ever try to pull a stunt like that again after completing his research.

@BlueHeroIke Those demons' entire error altogether was underestimating humanity. It played a hand in every single one of their downfalls. Lust and Wrath underestimated human ingenuity and balls. Envy and Pride assumed they had easily broken the very human bonds and resilience which they despised. Gluttony outright thought humans were nothing but food. Sloth saw humans only as obstacles in his drag of an assignment. Even Greed in a way underestimated his own capacity to value humans.
