I am a pharmacist --- We have medicaid for the poor and medicare for the old + now since 2003 we have Medicare Part D which Subsides Drugs for the old -- Who wins with this? The Large corporations -- They Now do now have to compete with lower prices with their medicine and get to bill the government (tax payers) what they "feel" the drug is worth Another Failed attempt by the government that only benefits the corporations

If we got rid of the whole insurance industry and spent the money we are already spending on healthcare (currently 18% of the USA annual GPD) we could afford Single-payer healthcare with money to spare. Another source of funding could be cutting down the bloated wasteful military budget and reinvest that money into health care.

If you have HIV/ Hep C or Hep C you are deemed a high risk and are covered by the federal government.
Yet you seem to fail to site the compulsion in our federal government mandating people to have Insurance. They are getting rich as they can set the prices since its required that you have it or pay through the arm.

You need to first understand how we back our dollars today and how we create money to understand why we have troops in 140+ countries and why we have over 700 Military bases worldwide costing us 1.5 trillion a year when you figure in all costs associated with the welfare costs of Warfare
Replacing one Welfare program with the wars and replacing it with another does nothing when we are still living outside our means.

Corporatist= a government in which corporations influence the direction of public policy and the dispersal of public funds. Why would the bite the hand that feeds their election and reelection? A socialist government controls those utilities that are in the public interest as well as putting a collar on capitalism's more negative aspects. Our government still has a few Keynesian elements kicking.

If "Government X is fascist" is true, then "Government X not fascist" is false. If "Government X is fascist" is false, then "Government X not fascist" is true.
Falsification requires us to give criteria to judge the truth or falsity of a claim.
What criteria would make this claim false: "Government X is fascist." Observable criteria are best.

If the USA was a social democracy most people would be in labor unions and the unions themselves would have a lot more strength. Things like Single-Payer National health care would have been a reality a long time ago.

Unions are corporations. They are run for profit.
It's right to say that the US is not socialist; it's a hybrid capitalist and socialist system. The US economy has many socialist elements.
However, it seems quite wrong to say it's fascist, if only because political power in the US is highly decentralized. Corporations have no more sway in the US than in Sweden, perhaps less so.

Do you live under a rock? Corporations own this country. You have to look no further than the top donors of the Republican and Democratic candidates in any political race to see who owns them. The industrial complexes of military, medical and energy have been driving the policy and legislative decisions in this country for centuries. The have the power to force our country into war for their interests all the while running up record deficits and civilian body counts to protect their profits.

All of this is true also under socialist governments. But still, the point is a good one. FDR, and other prominent Progressives, were great admirers of fascism. The legal form of the modern US corporation was created by FDR's administration specifically to couple government power with private money.
