It looks like you certainly got plenty out of that small space! Everything looks so bright green and healthy. I hope my garden looks that good this year :)
Hi George. I'm working on my first garden as well and my zucchini is my favourite. Its growing so well and getting flowers already. And I'm all the way up in near Toronot. Good luck. Post again when they are in flower.
Well by zuke plant just flowered with two big bright yellow flowers. It could have been encouraged by the little bit of sunshine we finally received yesterday. I have never seen so many rainy days here in New York in many years! Oh well, it was very nice to see those flowers this morning! -George
You can prune zucchini easily and not worry about diease and pests unless it's already diseased or covered in pests. I've always pruned mine and never had a single problem aside from it growing even faster. lol
Thanks Ray! I pruned it back yesterday after shooting this video and now my other plants can get much more sun. I also gave it a good compost tea bath tonight! Thanks for your helpful hints..I really appreciate the feedback! .I'll keep you posted how it goes! -George
Holy junk! My zucchini is just about that big and I have 2 next to each other along with 2 squash. I was actually reading about pruning zucchini/squash and from what I've read most things say to not cut anything back as it can lead to disease or pests. Now I have zero experience as this is my first year growing so just going by what I've read literally today. I'll be posting a new vid tomorrow and talking about the same problem and looking for help.
Thanks Jason! I actually went and pruned my zucchini plant back yesterday after the video. I wanted to make room for my tomato, pepper and cantaloupe plants and now there is much more room for them. I'm gonna hit it tonight with some compost tea I'm currently brewing and will keep you posted how it does. Thanks! -George
