  • 3..2..1....go. lmfao that maid me laugh

  • What Was That 0:12?

  • 0-60 took 9-10 seconds? My stock 5.3L does it in 7ish. You might wanna check something.

  • @pearldrummerbt123 Yeah I've compared the numbers of the new ford motors against the GM motors...they're going to have to step it up with the vortecs now lol

  • @spk9grsh Yeah and half of them blow plugs out of the head. Our fleet used to be all ford, now it's Chevy. Ford builds a fine truck but they need to improve the quality of their light truck engines.

  • If a stock Ford 5.4 Triton makes a tiny bit more torque than a stock 5.3, it's almost of no consequence and it certainly doesn't outweigh the potential to make a GM truck fast. The performance aftermarket for GM LS-based trucks is lightyears ahead because it shares the same architecture as hugely popular platforms such as the F-body, Corvette, GTO, etc., which are arguably the best performance platforms of this day and age.

  • Fords Suck ass! Chevy is the best i will run mine against a cobra and a 100 shot outta the hole and beat it.

  • you guys are all stupid as fuck i owe a truck very similar to this one and it is a piece of shit and the horse power on every make of truck changes almost every year

  • Do you think thoes lt headers are worth it? My 99 5.3 sierra runs about 8.0-8.2 now

  • try again with better tires or if one tire spun lockers with exhaust you shoud aleast be in high 7s low 8s

  • @pearldrummerbt123 Yeah I have to agree with that, I have a 96 jeep cherokee sport for work, that thing still runs like new..and i've beaten the hell out of it hahaha

  • @pearldrummerbt123 vortec's weren't horsepower monsters either, whats the point in having high horsepower in a truck? unless you're racing it, I'd rather have torque. I've owned both vortecs and tritons, and the vortec outlasted the other two trucks. It will be a back and forth competition like always, GM will answer by beefing up their power, then ford will do the same..I still like GM's options on vehicles, but I haven't found a more reliable truck then my 97 GMC sierra Z71.

  • @pearldrummerbt123 It's not always about power, vortec has been around for awhile, and is alot more reliable the triton motors. The newer coyote motors are just gaining momentum...this all goes back to personal preference, some people like chevy, some people like ford...the point I've been trying to establish is that tritons are garbage, and were from the day they were designed. Ford made the right move by changing it up, but GM hasn't had to do that yet because they designed vortecs right

  • well How about Chevys Better Then anything? lmao

  • Unfourtontly Georgia has emissions but here our Troopers or most of them are cool and don't really care about stuff like that I plan on being a GSP trooper one day

  • I love Chevy and own a Chevy Silverado and I love there Vortec engines but Chevys stock transmissions are shity and won't last very long if you floor it out of nowhere or shift it into another gear while driving thats one thing Chevy needs to work on but other than that Chevy all the way!

  • @pearldrumsarecool and the stupid in-tank gas gauge ... I'm so tired of that shutting down and replacing it ... Funny needle dancing show though for new people (freaks them out)

  • @Sweetdreamsprelude Yeah lol I've got a 05 Chevy Silverado 4.8L with a flowmaster super 40 with a turndown on it but I'm fixing to turn 16 in 2 months and my mom has gave me money to put into the outside of the truck like rims and stuff like that and my dad is going to pay for speakers, window tint. But my mom gave me that money because I didn't get a new truck I just took my grandpas when he passed away last year and it's only got 34,000 miles on it and he bought to only use on the farm lol

  • @pearldrumsarecool Yeah I never got anything growing up! LOL You sux J/K ... Dang that's a nice deal your getting ... Plz don't slam it "It's a truck!"

  • @Sweetdreamsprelude Yeah I try my hardest to take care of it and I wash it almost every weekend but that doesn't last long on a dirt road especially if it Rains lol but I really do like it and so far theres been no probelms with it but we just put that Flowmaster on it in July and I like it but I wish it was just a little bit more louuder and agressive but it can definatly use some new tires on it thats for sure I'm going to try and make a video of it soon I hope

  • @pearldrumsarecool Well if you don't have emissions in your state, take the catalytic converter out ! Straight pipes are the way to go !

  • I have a 5.3 also you need i shift kit,, i put a stage 2 shift kit in mine and when she shifts into seconds she breaks loose for a sec its nice!!!

  • i got a 5.3 vortec in my 2000 chevy and it kicks ass it does not disapoint on or off road

  • You're tires will forever keep slipping beneath you. At least as long as you drive an american car.

  • @hallberg91 its a truck buddy

  • @hallberg91 the vehicle dont matter dude. if u got slicks its gonna spin a tire, expecially when you got a 5.3 vortec...

  • @hallberg91 im sure you drive some "jap crap" huh?

  • who puts a couple of gay basketball players in their tags.. wtf

  • Sounds like 3/4 is almost burnt. my 4l60e sounded like that b4 it died after getting rear ended.

If you get it rebuilt in the future, get a performance rebuild kit for it instead of a regular rebuilt kit that they use at the shops

  • ha ha wheel wobble that must be what ford or dodge drivers get when they are dreaming of how fast there truck is

  • no busted tires here, just listen to him say, "getting to be bad transmission"

    trannys fucked my friend..

  • i pretty much just said that.

  • i pretty much just said that again

  • his tires did not bust loose, if u listen you hear him say "0-60 with a getting to be bad transmission"

  • Comment removed

  • Nice Video if your stopped and put it to the floor do both tires spin or one?

  • my explorer is a 4.0 ohv, is that why it lacks top end power?

  • yeah but for some reason all fords lack a lot of top end power, i have a 99 explorer and u have to really stomp on the throttle

  • dad has the 5.4 mom has the 5.3 niether are what i would consider fast much less make a video of and post for everyone to see... my 6.7 cummins on the other hand.....

  • correct me if im wrong but if your tires bust loose arent your RPMS supposed to go up not down? cause i know my truck does

  • nice fucked up tranny

  • either u let off then gave it gas again or you tranny was havin issues. It shifted normal and then down to a passing gear half way through, that cost you some time. Its quiker than 10 sec. My 95 5.7 does 0-60 in 7 sec. The 5.3 arnt the quickest but it shouldnt be 10 sec. 0-60.

  • Gentlemen, all the triton engines are shit, poorly designed, underpowered shit. The vortec motors are far superior

  • Gotta agree with you there. The best thing about GM trucks are the Vortec motors. Great freaking motor....

  • they're amazing, design hasn't changed in over 20 years, they hit solid gold with that motor, never had a problem with it, as where my 4.6L triton is breaking down all the time, took me 4 and a half hours to change the spark plugs, took me 20 mins to change the ones one my GMC

  • I've heard a lot of good things about the vortec motors. A friend of mine had a '99 Sierra 2500 3/4 ton with the 6.0L---he just traded it in on a '05, and he had put 250,000 miles on it. Never had a problem with it and it's still running as far as he knows.

  • @captaincrunch69 ive seen 5.4's with over 400k on them with no rebuild, but i have never seen a vortec do that, 250-260k is usually the most you'll get out of a vortec, 5.7 vortecs also blow headgaskets and have injector problems. but 5.4's back in 02-03 had a problem with metal shavings from machining the heads in the manufacturing process getting causing engine failure.

  • @wickedblackcamaro I've got a 95 chevy with 480k on er and she still runs like shes brand new!!

Explain that one mr i know it all

  • @plow0www i guess you got lucky, because my tahoe died at 101k and my silverado has main injector failure now...

  • @wickedblackcamaro The most I seen a Vortec 5.3/4.8 go is 280K before needing a rebuild but I think most last around 250K maybe a tad more,Vortec 4.3 can go over 300K and no rebuild if not abused. Vortec 5.7's have issues and need motor work done atround 100k and last 200k, more then that if the head gasket is fixed right away. I never seen a Dodge 4.7/5.7 last 200k. I seen a Ford Trition with nearly 400k still running good with no motor work, some do have spark plug issues however.

  • @captaincrunch69 I like Toyota iforce a Bit better, but out of the Domestics, Vortecs are best, and Hemi is a close second, then magnum, then triton!

  • @Motorfordtoyota LMAO.. How about your pussyfooting Toyota hooks a chain up to ANY Chev, be it 5.0, 5.3, or 5.7.. The only difference you will notice between the three is how badly you get TUNED.. No doubt Toyota makes a good motor, they just put it in a piece of rice. As far as i'm concerned, the Toyota is plastic car designed to make people that never owned a truck think they have one.

  • @captaincrunch69 ill second that, best engines to come from ford are the 289's and the 351W-C-M

  • @captaincrunch69 Vortec doesn't have nothing on Fords new boss 6.2

  • @itsoundzgood the new vortec 6.2 does

  • @itsoundzgood the GM and Ford 6.2 are pretty evenly matched lol...I'll still take my 5.7 gm 350 over a ford...reliability is what I want

  • @captaincrunch69 Correct. Tritons are garage. My buddy's 01 5.4L with 45k miles is on it's 2nd set of coils......And yea we fixed the AC line that leaks on top of the #4 coil.

  • @captaincrunch69 go fuck yourself you gm hack, the 5.4 has a little more torque the vortec and the only problem they have is sometimes the spark plugs get seized

  • @spk9grsch I've already said I've owned both ford and GM vehicles, I prefer the design of the vortec motors, ford had all this time to fix the garbage triton, and they're just NOW coming out with a new line of motors. and aww look at you, cursing to assert your authority...a little more torque wont keep you out of constant repairs ;)

  • @captaincrunch69 even though fords last as long as and longer than vortecs. okkay

  • @adammdamann yeah, maybe the trucks...not the motors lol, and thats what I'm talking about, not the truck itself...I'll agree with all you ford fans out there...the new line up of ford engines is good...but why did it take them so long to scrap the garbage triton? have you owned both ford and gm? I have, and I'll still take my sierra (which is still on the road and running) over that ford that sold for scrap parts years ago

  • @captaincrunch69 yeah just aquired a 91 1500 chevy with the 350 tbi in it. also had 1 f150 and 250

  • @captaincrunch69 Triton junk ??? both motors have there place The 5.3 is a runner, the 5.4 is a worker. no doubt the 5.3 will out run the 5.4 any day of the week and has a huge aftermarket for parts but working at salvage yard i see alot of 5.3s get pulled under 200k where as i see alot of 5.4s with 200+

  • @foxyz125 I don't know many people who use tritons in their work trucks...maybe the powerstroke diesels...but in terms of gas motors, I have ever seen a truck do as much work as mine, and NEVER break down...in the end..personaly preference, and no matter what manufactuer, you will always get a bad truck...I guess I got bad luck with fords, and good luck with GM's...but I still HATE the triton motors

  • Comment removed

  • @metalica132 wow a 183k am i supose to be impressed or something lol im not hating on the 5.3 i own a 2000 silverado and its a great truck, just my personal experience alot of 5.3s get pulled under 200k so i dont know how that makes me "Your full of shit". Nice video by the way good to know theres grown men that film toilet bowls.

  • @foxyz125 i've seen more 5.4's blow connecting rods out the manifold than ive seen vortecs get pulled before 200k. we had a 2 brand new 04 crew cab 5.4s blow, both under 50k and they were for work purposes, as in hwy traveling, no hauling, no high stress situations. we've had 3 gm trucks, highest now at 265,xxx, and the biggest replacement we've done on them besides tires is maybe radiator tank or new ball joints. we even have a 5.7 98 yukon still running strong with 302k.

  • @Cheeny23 you well your stupid ass probably fucked the fords up. i dont buy this shit about your company. why dont you stop making shit up, and actually learn something about fords before you type. You fucking moron

  • @adammdamann Since I don't even drive them. your pathetic, talking shit over youtube. All I stated were some facts from my personal experience. If I cared that much about what you speculate about me, I could just pull up the service records from the ford dealership we bought them from which shows 2 new intake manifolds, one new hood and some other parts but I don't so I won't waste my time. I guess driving up and down I5 is too much for Ford. You my friend, are the moron, uneducated prick.

  • @Cheeny23 haha oh another good reaction. truth is i dont give a fuck

  • @adammdamann Alright then, don't get your panties in a bunch over the internet.

  • @Cheeny23 what is that u were doing?

  • @foxyz125 Haha i would like to see all these 5.4s that have blown rods out the manifold do you know how much force it takes to even bend a rod especially with a 5.4 that makes peak hp before 5000rpm its just not a common problem so i call bullshit.

  • i have them both the triton and the vortec the triton will drag the lil vortec around the yard yes the vortec has power but its still the slowest thing in the yard

  • that doesnt even make sense, even the 4.8 will eat a 5.4

  • @DSMERGSX dam right it would

  • Lightning is the only ford i would drive(and i do drive one)

  • no i promise you it wont the 5.4 is a pulling powerhouse and will gain speed for days (once u remove limiter)

  • the 5.4 is a pile, underpowerd and slow. Ive driven one, they suck.

  • the 5.4 dads got has walked MANY vortecs like a dog

  • nah, not really. ford always advertises how they have "strong frames" making the truck strong, but rediculusly heavy. Chevy and dodge have always been faster.

  • hahaha yea ok buddy, i havn't met one ford thats got me beat in a race

    vortecc power babbby

  • obviously you havent seen a triton 5.4 have you? the 5.3 isnt even that powerful they are slugs ive drove them

  • lol,

funny because my dad has the 5.4 triton and i kill him in take off and top end. so if you think the 5.3 isn't powerfull, i dont even wana know what you say bout the 5.4

  • thats kind of funny cause ive raced a 99 f-150 with a 5.4 thats programmed and has an exhaust with my 04 silverado 5.3 with an intake and exhaust no programmer and i walked all over him...CHEVY POWER

  • thats because the 99 f150 5.4 is a 3 valve engine try the 5.4 4 valve and its a whole dif ball game its amazing how one extra valve per cylinder lets it breathe

  • This is spoken like a true ford driver. All im gona say. Lightning yes other wise its a big POS.

  • @sierrass03 if you want to drive around get a chevy they drive and ride great! if you want to work get a dodge or ford chevys are to low o the ground bottom out and when pulling they get wheel wobble wouldnt have a chevy if u gave it to me

  • @fireman549549 dodge with a cummins yes for a work truck. Other than that no way.

  • either ur bullshittin, or your vortec has issues

  • Betcha it doesn't drag my truck around....

  • what kind do u have?

  • its a 325

  • does it rly matter? 325? 327? they are both shitty chevy engines

  • wow so wrong the 5.3 chevy engine actually has more power and torque then the 5.4liter ford engine

  • the 5.3 has 10 more hp than the 5.4 triton 3v and the 5.4 will out tow the 5.3 the triton engine is a serious work horse were the 5.3 is ment for older chevy owners with money and dont do much

  • so wrong buddy im talkin bout the new vortect 5.3 all around a better engine then the 5.4 triton so get your facts straight buddy peace out

  • @petorian1 No, sorry, the 5.3 vortec has 325-338lb ft, and the 5.4 has 335-365lb ft. depending on the year. You are right however about the vortec having slightly more horsepower though.

  • @wickedblackcamaro The 5.4 actually had more hp then the 5.3 from 04-07{including the 07 classic} Chevy had 295HP then while Ford went up to 300HP in the 5.4 in 04

  • @wickedblackcamaro iv seen a 5.3 vortec with 340k no rebuild and dont talk numbers, it's what gets puts to the ground that matters.

  • @petorian1 true statement. i've raced my buddies ford and i usually pull with in a second or too at any speed on him

  • @petorian1 then just step up to the 6.0 vortec max or the new 6.2 liter that will smoke any ford lol

  • @petorian1 You were right about horsepower, but not torque. The Chevy 5.3L makes 315 HP and 338 LB-FT of torque. The 5.4L from Ford makes 300 HP and 365 LB-FT of torque.

  • i did do my research actually and its not a 327 i know. dont be a cunt you pigfucker. people make mistakes and when they do you can correct them but dont be a pencil dick crotch jockey when you do it..

  • dude i have a 2005 chevy silverado its a 5.3 liter 327. just like all the other 5.3 chevys. ...it also has a dual strait pipes exhuast with 3.5 in 24 inch long tips.

  • it is a 327... read chevy website, there 5300 vortech is the 327ci fuel injected motor.

  • no dude is right the 5.3 in the silverados are 327s

  • You are wrong. Why is it you people don't ever do something called "research" before you open up your mouth/mind/keyboard and insert your big foot in there. GM 4.8L is 293 cu in, 5.3L is 323 cu in, 5.7L is 346 cu in, 6.0L is 366 cu in and the 8.1L is 496 cu in. As good as the Gen 3,4 GM engines are, they aren't as strong stock as the Ford 4.6 32v Cobra or 5.4L Ford GT engine. 1000rwhp stock for the 4.6 and 1480rwhp for the GT with stock internals. Strongest factory installed engines ever.

  • wtf are you talking about?? 1000rwhp stock? stfu

  • Yes 1000whp STOCK. As in factory long block. Only bigger blowers or twin turbos. Do a little bit of research.

  • oh so theres a little option for twin turbos from the factory?

  • Are you that stupid that you can't read? Le me repeat it for you one last time.........FACTORY LONG BLOCK!!! There is no other engine made with the exception of maybe the supercharged 6.2L that can handle that kind of power stock. With forged internals and a steel crank the LSx engines can handle the same power as well. In stock form, they cannot because of weak internals. 600bhp is no slouch either though, and that's the recommended power level for a stock LSx engine without forged goodies.

  • so you can get twin turbos?

  • HP Performance, Hellion turbo systems just to name a couple........

  • Its a 327 not a 323.325 or anything like that its says rate under the hood 5.3 327

  • A 327 is a 5.4 liter, try again.

  • it actually says 323, cause thats what it is, they are all the same thing pretty much anyways

  • Nah, the 5.3 is a 323 dead serious

  • I own a 2001 silverado, it says 5.3 on the sticker above the radiator, no where does it say 327 and chevy has never called it a 327 anywhere because it's not, it's a 325 and car makers go by liters only now.

  • Do the math, it is a 327

  • you ever wonder why your trannys going/is bad?

  • I posted a video of my 2002 GMC seirra ext cab with exhaust intake upgrade and spark plugs. The truck in this video was ok, but I think that I have got him

  • Ok.. I see the arguement about a 5.3 being between a 323 and a 327. Im not saying what i think it is...but keep in mind that GM's 305 and Ford's 302 were both 5.0L. Also, if you type 5.7L (which we all know is a 350) into the google conversion thing, it comes out to 347.8 cubic inch. So there is a little difference between actual 'calculations' and factory intended specs. I also went to Advance Auto's website and searched parts for a 5.3 and it specified it as a 323.

  • true

  • well actually the 5.3 is a 326 and fords 302 is a 4.9 those are facts not assumptions. and the reason its says 347.8 is because the 5.7 has a bunch of diff versions

  • Well yea i get what you mean. Also, im not trying to be a jerk, but the 302 is a 5.0L and the 300 inline 6 cyl. is a 4.9L. My buddy's got a cool mustang with a 302 and its got factory 5.0 badges all over it. Plus my dad used to have an 83 ford van with a 302, which was also a 5.0L. And grandpa had an f150 with the 4.9L 300 inline 6, and that thing had balls lol. It was a good truck.

  • and i said diff versions because the 5.7 in the ls1 is a 346 and the lt1 is a 350 so it all depnds on the car really

  • they also made a 325 5.3

  • doesnt the speed on a 5.3 go to 140 on the dash?

  • no jus 120

  • depends on year some go to only 100

  • THIS ENGINE IS NOT A DAM 327! ITS A 323.

type in 5.3 litres to cubic inches in google and see the converter that comes. up...

    5.3x61... its a simple formula

its not even close to a 327 generation 1 small block engine, THERES NOTHING IN COMMON

  • no offense but ur ride has ur personality maybe if u got more excited maybe she would too lol jk man but seriously is that like a 4 door long bed with 4wd and a bed full of bricks cuz theres no way a 295hp stock chevy 4wd weighting a little over 5000lbs is gonna go that slow and you must have horrible tires it should be alot quicker somethings wrong

  • Yeah, my 05 is a 327.

  • its not a 327.

its a generation 3 LS series engine that is 323 cubic inches.

It has NOTHING similar with a 327 gen 1 engine from the 60's.

why do people say its a 327.

  • Positively? Alright, I was pretty sure it was, but i'm not the most car-smart guy out there.

  • POSITIVELY! my dad worked for GM and he built the engines, he can tell you all about the piston slap too.

go on google and type in "5.3 litre to cubic inch"

  • Alright, thanks for the info.

  • no problem man.

  • u want to see a good 0-60, chek my vid

  • the 4.8 started out being 275hp and got bumped to 295 in i think 03. the 5.3 started out being 295 but is now 315. both got bumped up the same year, i know that at least. my friend has a 04 silvy reg cab shortbed 2wd auto, his 4.8 is 295hp. and is pretty fast up till about 80 he says. i differ by saying it does slow down in 3rd gear but it is still decent.

  • he wants to race me in my 08 V6 f150. we are gonna take them to a track. he has trouble with traction off the line in which case i think i could beat him in the 1/4 but if he gets traction i will have him up to maybe 30mph then he will easily pass me. i will post a comment here and i will make a video when we do it and i will include timeslips in the vid

  • I've called GM (not the local dealership) numerous times asking what the displacement was on the 5.3L and they have told me 325 everytime. I hate when people think it's a 327. They stopped making the 327 years ago. Not even close to the same engine.

  • EXACTLY!

its a generation 3 LS series 323 cubic inch engine.

does'nt have anything in similiar with a gen 1 327 from the 60's.

  • 1999 silverado 5.3's had the 323 i have one i know. Every other year after that was either a 325 or 327

  • its a 323-325. Even GM doesn't know what to call them as they are listed either way in numerous articles. But it seems as though most people are sticking with 325.

By the way, it is in no way shape or form anything similar to an old 327.

  • damn torque management.

  • I agree. I have a 02 seirra with the 5.3 and dam it .

  • SRT92, it is a 323. Check with GM if you dont believe it.

It can also be found using a common formula and basic math.

    (displacement in Liters x 61)

    5.3L x 61 = 323.3

  • it may be 323 but if u look at all the other liters and cubic inch displacements, they are all different like 5.7 is a common 350 but its actually 347.7 ci.....its how they did it....not bashing u in any way but SRT92 does have a point its a 327

  • it depends which 5.7 you are talking about.

    the 5.7 LSx engine is a 346

    the 5.7 LTx is a true 350

but hell, we are talking about 4 cu inches here..it doesnt matter.

  • GOD that thing is slow

  • what gear ratio does your truck have? I have a 5.3l with 4.10s and I want to get headers, just trying to get and idea what they may do compared to yours

  • I believe they are 3.73

  • yes

  • Dynatechs are good

  • wow 0-30 in like one sec

  • that's the tires spinning.

  • fuck the TM always fucks up the lunch's

    nice truck man

do a tranny shift programming it will go faster

  • bad transmission?

  • Yup. Its been bad for a while.

  • I wonder why...

  • bigger tires, not being programmed for bigging tires, more mods to engine,

you know tthings that ruin tranny lift. It needs a rebuild and a vette servo.

  • this is for hjjfffaa: how did u stuff a 502 rj into a silverado n was it hard to do? i have an 04 silverado w/ a 5.3l vortec but i just sold my k5 blazer that i had a 502 rj. that buyer didn't want the motor bcause of fuel economy so i put back the 350 it had when i bought it back n. i would really like the 502 to bring my truck to some serious life! i know my 20.s wouldn't like it to much.

  • Dude, wtf are you smoking? its a 5.3 (325) V8.

If you want more power, try a 6.0 with h.c.i and possible forced induction. Or if you want to get crazy, an LS7, or a 408 stroker.

A 502 is worthless in the newer cars (with all of our advantages in modern technology)

  • my dad set me up with a dual stage big block nitrous kit. the kit is maxd @ a 550 shot with a progressor. im actually in the middle of tryn to trade the motor kit included for a custom built 468. we found a 71 nova bout 2 weeks ago that being takin to frame right now so we'll c wht hppens. and i kno theres more advanced motor but its just a motor that i already have everything needd to just drop n to something.

  • thought the 5.3 was a (323)?

  • its a 327

  • NO! its not.
