  • My younger brother was diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy due to lack of oxygen in his brains and this was because of hospital negligence. I was 7 at that time and just remember that my parents were going through a hard time dealing with legal issues and my brother's condition (this was back in the 90s). The doctors told my parents to give up on him because he's basically a vegetable with no motor movement and that he will not be able to speak at all. They also said that his life expectancy w

  • You sir, are a hero for trying to take care of your daughter as best you can and trying to give her a normal life.

Don't ever give up on her!

I have mild CP myself, which has caused me to have some mobility problems, an abnormal gait and nearsightedness since birth. I was also born with my feet bent inward, had to wear braces when i was a kid and had to undergo surgery at the ages of 16 and 17, so that the doctors could straighten my feet.

It's a cross i have had to bear, indeed.

  • Don't listen to a soul about life expectancy. My daughter is much like Emma. She is 12. Only God can decide when it is somebody's time to rejoin him. Enjoy every moment with Emma but don't count the days. They can be much longer than you think! Believe it!

  • My sister also had severe CP and was much like Emma is. Emma is just precious, by the way.

  • yes, in hevean emma, me and others will be queens and kings but now we have to work a little bit extra so that god will give us that gift. so this is just temporary.

  • Absolutely priceless thank you dear friend, thank you

  • this just made me so sad. But you are a great father im sure. She is beautiful!

  • i like this song but never heard it

  • @iamacoolkorean It is called "The Old Rugged Cross" and is a Beutiful Hymn=)

  • my cousin has cp like emma, except she doesn't require a tube

    she's 26 and doing great

i hope emma's life span exceeds the doctors' expectations, and i hope she continues to excel and enjoy life!

    godbless

  • Anyone can google, cerebral palsy life expectancy, to see the current literature on this subject. The results are predictable. For mild to moderate CP, life expectancy is at or near normal but a whole different matter for the severest cases of CP.
