  • use carrots to gut load insects

  • no offense but you really SHOULDNT use a heat rock, so i dont think this is a ultimate care guide... heat rocks are very dangerous theve been discontinued for reason

  • you shouldn't use potato for your feeder insects the starch gets turned into sugars. So your pretty much feeding your animal a insect twinky

  • Can you have a heat rock, heat lamp, and a heat map at the same time??? My house get really cold in the morning! I would turn off the heat lamp at night and keep the rock and heat matt on.. is that okey?

  • No heat rock.

  • pleeaaassee hheeeellllppppppp mine is real skinny n small all shell eat is wax worms and rarley does i need help quik possibly a worded care guide please her life depends on it!!!!

  • Hi:) I am a leopard gecko breeder, and I see u r doing a very nice job!! The only changes u should make r DO NOT use a heat rock. A heat rock is very dangerous to a leopard gecko as they have no sense of touch on their bellies and can easily get burned. U also might want to turn the temp down so it is 86 degrees on the warm side and 81 degrees on the cool side. Also u might want to get another hide as he should have at least 2, and in one make it humid:)

  • @Gingerific123 yeah but the xo terra one has a thermostat in it i kept my leo happily on one...

  • It's ok

  • Nice vid I have a video on my Chanel about some questions if u could go look at it and like answer my questions that would be great

  • You are an idiot. Nobody trust this guide! It's not accurate! Heat rocks will cook your gecko and they will get burned and die from them. The reptile carpet is green which is not accurate to their natural environment. They live in the desert! Leopard Geckos do not climb so you don't need to spend your money on a log like that! You must have a UTH(under tank heater) for your gecko. They absorb heat through their stomach! Not from lamps above them! They have to have fresh water and mealworms at A

  • They have no heat receptors\nerve endings on there under side so they lay on the heat rock and literally cook themselves alive because they can't feel the heat.

  • Don't use heat rock it can burn them

  • I am in need of some serious help with my daughters Leopard Geckos !! some un eaten mealworms hid in the bedding we had down , they seem to have chewed a hole in her tail ! its quite a big hole and i need to know how to maintain it and what i can do to help her . I cleaned the area and tried to bandage it but i dont want her to lose the tail as a result of having something on it . please help ! i can give you more info if you need .

  • @gwarfan1point5 get out the lizard!!!Then remove every thing in that tank wash down the things in the tank and the tank.buy new repitle carpet..keep a eye on that wound if u see a change in colour get her to a vet.aslo get crikets when feeding time comes TEAR off their back legs so they are easy prey and remove the ones that weren't eaten then kill them and trow them out...let ur daughter know that the worst case at this point is loss of the tail witch will grow back ..

    INBOX ME 4 MORE INFO

  • @shotgun123456789ful shes fine now . we just kept the wound clean every few hours with alcohol swabs and put paper towels down so the tail didnt get irritated . she was still spry and was still eating fine and shes pretty much all healed up now . we didnt have to change very much . just kept her a little cleaner than normal . shes good now . but thanks

  • Too bad the worms I get arent stupid enough to stay in a dish...

  • so they do need UVB right?

  • awsome green lightsaber

  • Can you tell me what morph/breed my gecko is? I cant find out. His head is light brown with a dark brown pattern with a black outline. He has white under that outline. his body is brown stripes with a black outline. Inbetween those stripes are orange His tail is black and white But this is his pattern (Black Outline) (Brown) (Black Outline) (Orange) (Black Outline) (Brown) (Black Outline (Orange) His tail (Black Outline) (Brown) (Black Outline) (White) It repeats that all up and down his tail
  • I have a heat pad for day heat and an infared bulb 75 watt for night heat + the heat pad. Is this too much heat? He sleeps most of both day and night. Im kinda getting worried, and he avoids his basking spot. HELP PLZ

  • You should put the light on one side and the heat rock on the other side so the rock wont get to hot and burn and ad a nother hide one on each side so they can choose.

  • Leopard geckos tend to eat live prey, stimulated by movement. So feeding dead animals might behard.

  • you dont add the supplements AFTER you put the food in the cage. you put the bugs in the bags with some calcium or vitamins and shake the bag.

  • can they still it the crickets dead

  • Arent leopard geckos nocturnal? :S

  • @teatolunch Yes, but they are out in day a lot too.

  • i want to get a leperd gecko and love your videos but in the summer my family turns on the air condition on and can the gecko still live with heat pad and light ?????? help???? pleas??

  • @geckos1426 Get a thermostat for your heat source! It will allow it to keep the same temperature no matter what the temp is outside the cage.!

  • lol they stayed alive a long time...... THEIR DEAD (^ -_-^)

  • Why Are u thanking us at the end of the water we should be thanking you

  • Hey Dude can i put heat pad under the shelter i want 2 shelter. 1 cool and 1 hot.

  • Good video :) I enjoyed it, but leopard geckos are noctornal and don't need to bask, also heat rocks can sometimes be dangerouse, so heat mats under the tank are recomended and are better, they take heat in through their bellys, but other than that, good video!

  • nice video .. i don't know about the head rock and lamp combo but everything else was good

  • nice vid

  • You know, I dont usually put hate comments on videos, but letting crickets starve or dehydrate themself in a container is not exactly a good thing. Buy the crickets when you need them. Also, those grass carpets suck, don't buy them. Crickets like to hide under them, and you need to clean it much more often than substrates. 3rd of all, never use heat rocks, especially with a lamp right above it. Do you want your gecko/ lizard to burn itself?

  • @Superjombombo1 agreed i hate mean comments but ur right and that wasnt mean at all

  • Don't use a heat rock it wi bake them no joke

  • is a 65 wat good for leapord geckos ???

  • One more thing....they need to hide boxes one warm moist hide and one cool dry hide....hope I helped :)

  • They also are nocturnal and do not bask in the sun..the heat lamp is used strictly to let the gecko know if it is night or day if they are being kept in a poorly lit room...ALWAYS use a heat mat they digest their food by warming their bellies

  • You gave out a lot of wrong info and forgot a few things, NEVER USE A HEAT ROCK IT CAN BURN THEM, waxworms and flightless fruit flies are fine as well

  • @LeopardGeckoHelp

thanks for the help:) are they nocturnal? sleep during the day and active at night? cus if they are i dont want one. and if you know which geckos arent nocturnal if so? please reply

  • awsome video thanks alot big help :D

  • Really good video!!! The only thing is that heat rocks can burn the gecko, but gecko's can live a perfectly good life with a heat rock. A 17 year old gecko I had adopted had lived his whole life with a heat rock. @yoyoairsoft1411564...feed them daily and coat them with calcium at every serving. Feed them about as much as they can eat :)

  • HELP HELP PLEASE TELL ME HOW MANY TIMES AND HOW MANY DO I FEED MY JUNVENILE BABY GECKO!!!!!!! PLEASE TELL ME HOW MUCH FOR A NORMAL AMOUNT AND HOW MUCH FOR A COATED CRICKET???????

  • subbed and thanks for the amazing vids keep it up!!!!

  • Nice video, how many geckos can you have together i know more then 1 male causes fights. But Someone told me you can only put geckos together that were raised together that are females is that true? Or can you also get females from other places and mix them up in the same tank?

  • Yeah it's actually killed my friends. Gecko

  • I heard bad thing about the heat rock saying it can cause severe burns on the reptile using it if i were you i would get rid of it before it is possibly too late

  • Yes to u have to feed them thos and no, u need 10 gallons per gecko

  • Do u hav to feed them crickets and mealworms? And could i keep 1 in a 5 gal?

  • @tallfishman100 You have to keep them in a ten gallon minimum. And a variety of diet is good

  • heat rocks are terrible, and leopard geckos dont need to bask at all therfore no need for that heat rock. and why dont you get a RED heat light?? they cant see red so if you put ur gecko near or a bit away from a window it can tell day from night ;) also i have a 30 gallon tank for my gecko right now but i might be getting a female to breed.

  • hey cant they die without the uv light

  • Just beginning and learning bout leo's before I purchase one but I know you are DEFO not supposed to use heat rocks!

  • u dont know anything bout geckos

  • there is just one prob you should not have a heat rock in there it burns there stumic mine died to that prob but outher than that good vid

  • dont use heat rocks the normally over heat

  • would you say that a kid age 5-8 can take care of a leopard gecko

  • @TheLizardbird I'm not sure about a five year old, but an eight year old probably can

  • @TheLizardbird usually it depends if there mature enough.

  • good vid .

  • heat rocks are bad and can cause burns. They dont bask ether they take heat through their belly's.

  • your guide isn't very good. there should be atleast 2 hides for your gecko, one being humid and one being not. heat should be at one end and NOT in the middle. you want a heat gradient so the gecko can choose where to be. also a hotrock is about the worst thing you could do for a gecko, even if it is "safe" just don't do it. those things malfunction alot

  • great info, thanx :) check out my vivarium.. my gecko seems really comfortable in a 10 gallon tank.

  • no D3 for leopard geckos

  • @KrazyReptiles d3 doesnt matter unless u over use it..

  • @KrazyReptiles d3 is important to allow the animals to absorb the calcium, especially if they are nocturnal and dont get UVB lighting.

  • never use heat rocks, the difference between a heat rock and a heat pad is a heat rock is a direct source oh heat and if the heat rock has an electrical problem ur gecko can get hurt

  • my friends gecko melted on 2 a heat rock, u should look things up better!

  • Also one more thing, don't forget about a humid hide.

  • I have never read on any Gecko forums that using a heat rock was a good source of heat. At night the Gecko will not be able to hide, feel safe and keep warm. UTH or heat tape with a t-stat are best. Do you have a temp gun to measure the heat rock? You want a cool (80ish degrees) and a hot side(90ish degrees). Otherwise good info.

  • We do not use that as a main source. Also, the heat rock we have turns off if it is too hot. That is what the light on the side of it is. If it is heating it is red, if it is cooling it is off

  • Again, I am wondering how you know when the rock is too hot? Do you have it on a thermostat?

  • It has a gage inside of it

  • Beast!

  • i know ours turns off when it gets too hot. You can see the light that says its on on the side of the rock

  • Awesome video!
