these talking birds seem disturbed, trying all their lives to communicate with a creature of a totally different species, trapped in an alien human world. do you not feel guilty sometimes when you look at your parrot? i don't own a parrot, but i "own" a dog and sometimes get waves of guilt over this issue. like they shouldnt have been breed and domesticated by us humans. i dunno, it's just something in his eyes sometimes. i think i would feel it ten times worse with a creature like a parrot.

Well a cockatoo is about a billion times more expensive, harder to keep and harder to train, but the rewards if you make it are infinite :>

you asking this question,shows that u better get none at all, because the cockatoo is about 10x harder to deal with than a parakeet. first read a couple of books about parrots before u buy one that will eventually land in some shelter because u can deal with it

yea I didn't even want to talk about my cockatoo. She's the most needy but I'm use to it. Had her for about 6 yrs now.

@sweetprincess110 Considering you'd be a first time avian owner, I'd stick with the budgie/parakeet. They're easier to handle and care for. Do your research reguardless on their needs and what to do / not to do so you don't kill it. For instance, using teflon or non-stick pans in the house can be fatal to a bird because they give off toxic fumes when over heated.
