"Super" was one of the most versatile horses ever to race in this country and truly deserved the tag of champion. ( a term too quickly used these days for 2 and 3 year olds). Was always one of Lee Freedman's favourite horses and rightly so. If all horses showed courage and determination like Super Impose, picking winners would be a lot easier!

These great wins proves not only what a good horse Super Impose was but also what a great horse Vo Rogue was as Vo Rogue beat Super Impose every time they raced.

Such a horse ~ I saw him often. Still gets shivers watching his efforts, an exciting backrunner. Lets clone Johnny Tapp ( the true master was the first student to the forgotten all time great Ken Howard) as NONE of today's callers are anywhere in Johnny or Ken's class. Such a pity but guess that is whats called progress* Proof again that the passage of time does not improve everything ....for sure racecallers anyway... look at who we have to listen to nowadays!!!

I loved this horse & never get tired of watching these races! Amongst many of my fave's during the 80's & 90's, "The Super" stands way out and always will. Regardless of his 2nd and 4th in the Melb Cups...(two races he really outdid himself in)...& even the Cox Plate as an 8YO....his wins in the big Randwick miles were one-of-a-kind. He carried 57 and 59.5 in the Doncaster wins, and 58.5 and 61 in his Epsom wins. Wow! I think most other horses would spit the hay out just thinking about this!

Super Impose was before my time (as a racing fan) but watching this makes you truly understand what this boy could do. Which was quite alot to be honest, a true champion.
