And the kid said "Well I still came out a winner, I really needed the money for school." I guess he didn't realize he could have sold the car for $55K
What were you expecting.. Do you think he bought the ticket because he thought his odds of losing were good ? Or did you think the kid with the white cap SOLD the ticket for $200 because he THOUGHT the ticket was going to win?
I bet there are probably 20 or 30 other people there who would have done the same.... lol
Lol "doesn't know maths" and apparently that guy doesn't know grammar.
Meh, free car big deal, I'd rather have a six figure salary with little schooling, but no ones going to hand you one. I'd rather earn things. It'll make me appreciate it all the more.
@Neutral1 He doesn't understand math either does he? It was 1/100 chances was it not? $1100 would suggest the car cost over $100k.. which it doesn't..
@Neutral1 I agree earning things on your own is great. But you'd be out of your mind to not want to win a free GT500. If you really believe "meh free car big deal" when it's a Shelby you have officially gone mad.
@TroutButter but seriously there's definitely something fishy about those types of contests. Too lazy to check the vid again but didn't it have an ad on it? If it did that's a major downer.
@neogen45 =p i know what it means but god I hope it is in their culture man, because saying it in casual conversations is fine but while trying to appear witty it's really crippling the joke when you screw up.
Taxes or not he won a friggin brand new Shelby! Even if it was a 2010 Civic I would be happy! That kid who sold the ticket did take the ass ownage quite graciously I must say! Hahahaha. Good video! Made my day!
Someone else pointed out that the taxes out of his pocket would have been pretty high. Personally I would have been stuck selling the car. Although, I'd still have enough to buy a new GT with the remainder so.... yes, fail.
Sucks to be the guy who sold the ticket.....but that's what you get for playing it safe and taking the $200 instead. He should have tried his luck. there were two cars given away and only a hundred tickets. His chances were high. It's not like there were thousands of raffle tickets. Face palm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@BBQPeanut
It was 1/50 not 1/100 because there were two cars raffled off.

@Neutral1 math is short for mathematics, generally the the brits call it maths as it's a plural.

That's what you get when you try to play smart and "outwit" contest organizers. You're better off just cuttin losses with having the ticket.

The taxes mean nothing, this guy WON a NEW CAR and paid less then a BICYCLE for it. He won the world right there.
