Zaros was overgod so strong that only guthix could beat him. When they desided to take match who can rule land of runescape guthix gave Saradomin god powers and zaros go allied with zamorak. After long fight Zaros was weak so Zamorak took the chance and killed Zaros giving him the god powers when new god Zamorak became enough strong he released every hate filled creatures to Runescape.

Yup zamorak and zaros had no right to steal the godly powers from zaros. And when they were fighting with the staff of armadyl impaled in zaros, zaros was choking zamorak and tripped then the staff impaled both of them and zaros was fading away while zamorak was becoming more real thus resulting into a god

@leon34384 I cant help but prove you wrong, when Guthix ended the god wars by banishing the gods, he left saradomin and zamorak to maintain balance (which was Guthix's role). the only god said to possibly match Guthix would be Zaros, which was forced to leave gielinor as well. He is regenerating the strength he had before zamorack betrayed him.just as Nex was released from her prison so will Zaros.In a quest he even speaks to you.But he and Guthix dont seem to have anything against each other.
