I had actually forgotten about this scene, but now I see how thi smight have influenced Python (fighting nuns) and Seinfeld/David (real life parking protocol) with its brilliant absurdity ... also notice Allen Garfield ("Hi, Mom!", "Cry Uncle" and many others) on the other space-stealing cross
