  • I'm watching and taking many notes! thanks so much! It's a marathon of Japanese lessons...I cannot wait to learn some vocab. to plug into these sentene structures

  • man i've never seen someone break it down like this before. Nice sh!t man. Arigato!

  • Thank you so much for your complements buddy!

I am gonna keep up to make new vids from now on also.

    Have a good one!!

  • what does nori and iki indicate in your examples? Thank you for the video!! If you could reuse the whole sentence in your response it would be appreciated. thank you!

  • Iki masu = to go

    Nori masu = to ride

    ex

Watashi wa Densya(train) ni Nori masu.

    I ride on a train.

Watashi wa Gakkou(School) ni Iki masu.

    I do to school.

    etc..

    Have a good one!!

  • Another late question I'm afraid - but it proves that I'm watching them all!

I've finally reached the location particles in my book and it mentions that に isn't necessary in simple statements like this:

    きのう、いきませんでした。 I didn't go yesterday

Would it sound OK if I left the particle in, or would it sound awkward?

    きのうにいきませんでした。

I'd rather get in the habit of always using particles than dropping them at this early stage :o)

    Cheers.

  • きのう、いきませんでした。 I didn't go yesterday

    is totally collect.

When you indicate "Time" such as "きのう","きょう","あした", you do not need to say に as the particle.

  • You are doing a great job there, teaching japanese. I checked out quite a couple of youtube japanese lessons and up to now found yours to be the most educating.

  • Thank you so much for your kind comment.

It encourages me to continue this.

Now, I am uploading Lesson vids, once a week, every Monday.

When you have time, please, check it out!!

    Have a good one!

  • Oborogin san,

Amazing video! I can't wait for the next one! I think I will memorize a bunch of verbs and nouns in the meantime to expand my vocabulary.

Thanks so much, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future!

  • Great!

When you memorize verbs, please do it as "Masu form".

And also present tense & past tense also.

In the beginning, you can use English nouns for Japanese sentence as it is. Because, mostly, Japanese people know about English nouns. So, for conversational Japanese case, I recommend you memorize verb first.

    Have a good one !!

  • Very great lesson!

    It's very interesting!

  • Thank you so much for your complements.

I am gonna continue to make new lessons.

When I make a new one, I will let you know buddy!

    Have a good one!!

  • Once again, a great lesson sensei! Ganbatte! Oh, and I am also learning Japanese at school. I am currently in 10th grade and in my high school, Japanese is a 4 year course so I am on year 2 of Japanese and it is much more complex, hehe. Oh, anyways, my teacher said try to avoid using "Anata". Is this true sensei?

  • Japanese in 10th grade?

I wish I was in that school.

  • It is great buddy! Please, hang in there.

Actually, I am gonna go over the how to drop off words in the conversation in my future lesson. Usually you can often drop off "Subject" in daily conversation as same as in English. But, once in a while, you need to say the subject so that you don't forget what the subject is.

Good luck! Have a good one!!

  • Great help! Thank you very much, buddy!

I just started learning Japanese by myself with so called flash cards for vocabulary and I found a cool online Japanese lesson programm with which I am teaching myself!

Right now I started with "Desu" and "Deshita" and I must remember that The vowels 'i' and 'u' are weak vowels, so I mostly don't say them. And also the particles, like "wa"

Your vlog is great, keep it up! I watched all your videos and your English is getting better every video!

  • Thank you for your comment.

    I was encouraged so much.

    Please, continue to study Japanese.

I hope my lesson vids also will be a small help for your study. From Now on also, I am gonna continue to make it.

    Please, check it out!

    Have a good one!!

  • Excellent, thanks very much. These are really useful for me as I'm just starting, so these help to give me topics to study.

Would `nana ni' be understood as seven o'clock or is it another example of some numbers being described in different ways according to their context?

I think it was gimmeabreakman who illustrated that Japanese tend to use `shi' for four when counting up to ten, but use `yon' when counting down from ten. And they didn't notice that they were changing it - strange!

  • Thank you for the kind comment always.

As per the time, please, check below.

I will go over "Time" in the future.

    Have a good one!

    Have a good one!

  • Please keep uploading more lessons. After living here for a long time I tend to get sloppy about the basics.

  • Thanks my friend!

But, you do not need to study Japanese at all.

You are one of the "Perfect Japanese Speaker" I have ever known.

    Come to the city ma~n.

    Let's hang out together!!

    Have a good one!!

  • そんなことないっすよ。めっちゃ崩れています。

とりあえず、if Tsushimamire or Falsies On Heat seem like music you might like, please tell them I said hello. :-)

  • You won't come?

    Are they already here?

  • Can't, sorry. :-(

Tsushimamire are just about to head to the States for a month. Falsies on Heat are going to be in NYC for a week at the end of September. They're both going to be appearing at the Karaterice event at the end of September. I recommend searching YouTube for video first, seeing if it's music you'd like. :-)

  • Oh~ma~n.

    Ok, I got it!

I am gonna check it out first.

    Thank you for your reply.

    Have a good one!!
