the fly is, by my oppinion, great movie! it's far beyond its time! i was born in 1995, and the fly came out in 1986, but, still awesome to me! great effects that exceed that time;)
I enjoy both Fly movies. Both go a bit overboard with the gruesome vfx, but their strength is in the emotional challenges the characters have to deal with.
i really enjoyed the film, i dont see it as just a horror film, i think it had a great story and that it could easily be shown in at least high school level english or film studys.
i was scared out of my mind when i was LITTLE! ha i slept in my parent's room that whoooole night. haven't watched it since. now i want to see it :) re-live it lol where can i find IT?
Good idea. Then they will have even more proof for their belief that violent movies turn people into perpetrators of violence. Pardon my sarcasm.
If you really want to prove them wrong use arguments against whatever they are believing. If it's the Bible, tell them it's among the most violent and brutal books written full of innocent people getting drowned, slaughtered and given cruel punishments.
Haha. I saw this movie last year and it scared my skin off of me! I guess it was more disturbing than scary except for the part where the fly was shot...I couldn't sleep that night and I cried so much afterward. It was a great movie but at the same time I hated it. :)
The Fly was really great film, great and original. it didn't win the oscar for best Visual effects because of legendary Aliens but it doesn't matter. i love this film and The Fly 2 was decent sequel as well
Really? Cronenberg's original was such a downbeat, affecting experience though, whereas it was difficult to know what to do with Walas' sequel, other than marvel at the gore (crushed heads, melted faces etc).
@Magnolia296 Amen, man, amen! And actually, it did win. I have this movie on my iPod AND Netflix streaming. And while I'm home during fall break, I'm getting the movie and the sequel from the library so's the people on my floor and the guys in our residence hall can watch this.
thanks for this! you already know what i think about this film. but it really is an excellent film too. it's gory and disturbing but with a real story and purpose. very psychological and emotional. i'm a real film lover and this film is worlds above some of the pointless gore around today!
i was studying 5th grade when is saw the movie(in INDIA they show only censored version in television), well i was very much frightened, esp. as the movie goes on, and as he completely transforms into a fly...
OMG, one of the scariest movies ive ever seen in hollywood movies
the one thing in a movie that ever actually made me think "eww," and cringe, was when brundlefly regurgitates on his food, such a captivating concept

@tham1chen1IND So it was the censored version you saw, and it still frightened you? Have you ever seen the uncut version?
padraic2001eire 1 year ago
they only cut the scenes, which was those in which they made love, the gory scenes were retained, so i was frightened then
tham1chen1IND 1 year ago
@padraic2001eire I just finished watching it for the first time and i feel very strange and scared
