  • Very, very good!

  • Awesome!

  • how does this work in cubase 3 or 4? are there drivers u need to put in for this? does it work with your sound card asio drivers? im lost

  • Superb performance !

  • Without implying you can't play the tune, I'd swear the audio IS the original record... That explains the synchronisation problems and the abrupt fade out in the end.

    Am I right?

  • Midtownmanhattan - GREAT JOB! But on the second chord (d flat), add a 'B' with your thumb and you'll have perfection.

  • It is the sound!!! You're a clone of Tony!!!

  • Nice replication of the Mellotron!

  • Hell, is it me or the sound is not perfectly synchronized with the picture. But good work.

  • The left hand is only playing single bass notes, is this correct?

  • yep, that's the ticket....

  • Awesome.

  • Good duplication of the original sound. Well done

  • Great perfomance, really. Can you tell me the exact model of your M-AUDIO kb? Thanks for video and for info.

  • I love this!

    Thank you!

    Max Backstrom

  • can't wait to get the m-tron, it really looks amazing for the price

GREAT rendition of perhaps the greatest song opening ever

  • Hello everybody!

That´s how it sound on the record! Very nice!

Unfortunately, the M tron ends at G-1 I guess, so it is impossible to play the bass notes! Can somebody help me? I tried to transpose the samples using the midi editor from Cubase 4 but it didn´t work!

THank you for any reply !!

    Beni

  • I'd like to help you, but I use FL Studio instead. You have to shift the range to a lower part of the keyboard in order to play the bass part and the high part at the same time on the same keyboard. This way you can simulate the two seperate keyboards of the original Tron. So I´m not talking about changing the pitch of the notes, but assigning the notes to a lower part of the keyboard.

  • Thank you anyway. I have to get FL studio probably.

By the way, there a new soft coming out, sampletron.

  • I shared your frustration till I saw this. The M_Tron's AccB_Viols_Brs patch was great until you get to high F#/A# chords (I think there's only 2 notes, not 3 as you've done) then you run out of keyboard.

In Logic's Mainstage I've set up 2 keyboards, one with Brass and Violins and the other with Accordion. That way, like Midtown you can get the full range. It's like using 3 M-Trons and I guess any modern DAW can do the same.

Well done mate, 5 stars from me.

Now, just for that organ patch...

  • awesome!! Thanks for the video. I finally learned the intro by watching you play :-)

    Excellent job

  • yeah thats as near a mellotron as ive ever heard, good stuff, now i want one!!

  • Absolutely Epic.

  • DUDE...sounds friggin AWESOME!!!!

Exactly like Banks sounded. WOW GOOD JOB!!

  • I wanna cry!

  • lol...

  • Absolutly fantastic, five stars!!!

I feel like Linux0s wrote before.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • Hi! I bought M-Tron program but the sound is not accurate as yours! What i need to buy? PLease right me back! Thank you!

  • Combine the presets to get the following:

    left hand: "Bass Accordian"

right hand: "Brass2" together with "MKII_Violins"

  • Banks would be proud.

  • Wow, makes the hairs stand up on the back of the neck just like the original. Very well done, not only the notes but that sound... that fantastic SOUND. The only thing missing is a dark stage with curtain backdrop and black light. ~Linux0s

  • Bravo, from Italy and me

  • what program?

  • RIGHT ON THE MONEY....... WOW......... AND THE EXACT SOUND..... to my ears anyways.

    cheers

  • brilliant. I was ready for the bass to kick in!!!

  • hi are you plug it into USB port..are you using vista or XP or MAC

i have problem(keystation 61es) with sounds when play it on vista through USB .

    thx answer

  • I'm using USB and XP. Perhaps you should use the MIDI connector instead.

  • well done

    sound is perfect

  • Thank you!

  • Very nice!

How can you play the bass notes?

On my software, the range ends at G -1!

    Ben

  • Thanks. I transposed another instance of the M-Tron VST a couple of octaves down in order to play the bassline because it's a different sound from the rest. The original Genesis version was played on an early Mellotron which features two keyboards so I tried to emulate that.

The sound you hear on this video is made up of three different M-Tron tape presets.

  • what 3 tapes are these please?

  • That's violins and brass for the right hand and bass accordian for the left hand.

  • very nice attempt, why not try another from the early Genesis catalogue and keep up the good work.

  • Thank you. I will post some more Genesis.
