Esa és una entrada al centro de la Tierra, seguro que vas ahí no te dejan írte muy lejos porque ellos saben la verdad, debe estar lleno de seguridad ahí.
I have actually met Jackie the guide. If you take the Violet City Tour, Jackie and Emily guide that tour and they rock as guides and are TOTALLY NICE PEOPLE. I highly reccommend the tour, but it's a hard tour though.
Mammoth Cave is one of the most spectacular places on earth. Everyone should visit it at least once. And if you have any interest in cave exploration or just the history of Mammoth Cave, I recommend the book "The Longest Cave" by Richard Watson and Roger W. Brucker.
Mammoth cave rocks I went today with my sophomore class,( if anyone ever happens to chance apon a starburst in the bottomless pit it is my friends, srry) Cool place though.
There is a Myth that the Earth is Hollow and a "Paradise" exists within the inside of the planet. Also, Mammoth Cave/s is known to be one of the ENTRANCES into the "inner-Earth".....Believe what you want, I'm not saying I believe it, but its still interesting to think about. ^_^ LOL
Like the book Journey to the Center of the Earth? I'm reading it right now and it's really cool... I don't know if I can believe it but I would really like to...
OMG what a freaking coincidence see that women i the back ground to the right of the screen thats my nana and the women with the brown hair all curly is about 39 i know cause she is my mom
when I was small boy my parents took my brothers and me there. In one of the caves they had a indian that died in a glass case to see, he was some what preserved very small man with candle next to him that went out when a boulder rolled on his foot in the main cave, they buried him some years later because of native movement to set him to rest. Back then there was small metal door to go threw and down narrow steps for 1 mile, was amazing cave. I am old man now but still I remember.
part 2~My mother was 1 of 9 children and she was 2nd to the youngest, born in 1919. She could tell stories of how her dad built a big house there for all of them. Emminent domain is a law where the government can come and take your property, regardless if you want to sell it or not. My cousins say flowers still grow around where the house sat to this day. You can't stop progress and that is why they were allowed to do this.Brownsville, Ky was established for them. My Uncle Vertice was 1st Mayor.
I was there twice, once in the 70's and once in 1993. Never could get into the tours. This area use to be part of my Grandfather's land and all the kin. I am a born Northerner and have always heard the stories of the locals NOT wanting to give up their land. Most was forced out on "emminent domain" I did find my Grandfather's name in the history (tour books) of the cave along with many of my other family members. If you look up L.P. Dossey (Leonard Price) you will find him.
this is stupid.... ._.

You will get lost in the dark and you could easily get yourself killed, because there are sudden holes that are big enough to swallow a large horse.

everytime i visit Gatlinburg Tn, somming from Ohio, i always stop there.
Was there last year finding morel mushrooms right outside the cave.
Im thinking of doing a private guided tour or the self tour next time, though very limited where you can go.
Seems natural, they take the land, then tell you where you can and can not go.

That's shocking. Imagine getting lost in there alone. I'd imagine you would never be able to get out.
