We wouldn't see it straight away though it would take us 8 minuites I think for us to see it because of speed of light and we would be engulfed by the red giant stag before it explodes anyway

Even if we don't see it right away, everything would still get to our eyes simaltaneously 8 mins later. assuming we are far enough away to see it.

Well by the time our actual star explodes Earth would be long gone because it goes into a stage called red giant which will engulf the closest 4 planets I think which includes us so we're pretty much toast (literally) when the time comes

There would'v been something worst that would happen if the sun was eternal.I heard there is a BLACK HOLE coming near our galaxy but it would reach it when the galaxy is already destroyed by the sun.

its doesnt explode that way first it becomes a giant engulfing earth so it would swallow earth before it would even explode and even before that the sun gets hotter and hotter that it melts the worlds oceans making it unsuitable for life forms on earth(too hot!) -- the sun sheds layers of gas making a planetary nebula-- basically nothing to worry about

Adding - not including the facts that in 4.5 billion years, when Sol does die, the human species will have been extinct for millions, if not billions of years anyway, through evolutionary process. The same with the dinosaurs and every other ancient lifeform on the planet - through our own means or nature.
Still, not a bad video, and I particularly like the cries of the populace in the background.

Thanks. Shot the sun and zoomed in. Shot the Krypton explosion from Superman on a large screen LCD. In an editor, dissolved back and forth between the two shots and added some screaming. You can hear the crystals at the end (probably should have taken this out). Anyway, it was just a test and never planned to be posted, but I liked it, so I thought, what the hell... Glad people have enjoyed it so far. Seems it unexpectedly opened a discussion about life and our ultimate end.

It's not going to do either. After a few billion years, it will inflate into a red giant with a diameter larger than Venus's orbit around the sun, eventually collapsing into a white dwarf and fizzling out. It doesn't have the mass to go supernova.

And well, they can only look 13 miljard lightyears far (back in time) after that they don't see more, but it could be there more then 1 universions, or that its older then 13 miljard years:P They think the universion is still expanding. :P

Lol, I'm 15 and I think this won't happen, if the fusion proces of the sun ends, over 5 miljards of years, it first will be a red giant, it will eat up Mecurius and Venus, and a miljard year later, if will have a small kind of explosion (No supernova I guess) and it will get a White dwarf, then it mabye takes 10 miljards of years, before its cooldowned, and it will be a Black dwarf. They don't exist yet, because the space is mabye 13 miljard years old.
The sun is now allmost 5 miljard years old.
