  • Keith Greens music, is from the beginning of the Jesus movement from the 70's, when Jesus was the reason for everything. Now adays everyone is looking at other things and not focusing on God only, now adays it's the feel good churches that have come in and almost ruined the sweet, sincere, Love of Jesus. Look to God for your comfort and seek his face in all you do. He is there with open arms waiting on us to welcome us home.

  • Love It + Peace +

  • Keith Green is a great talent and can SING!

  • Oh God please open my eyes, draw me close to you! Don't let the world win me. I am nothing without You! Please wrap your arms around me and never let me go!I need You!

  • i am starting to seek him more, all i want is to feel the full power of his love and embrace, can you imagen being blinded by his image? being struck dead by his sheer love? for me it would be a dream come true.

  • Love has no judgment, there is no discriminatior or rejection. Jesus died for ALL. Come just as you are.

  • When my dad passed away back when I was 17 , It became more real to me that my Heavenly Father was always there to guide me through life's uncertainties..

  • THis song is about me! I've been lost in a fantasy that blinded me, until His love broke through in my life! Thank you Jesus.

  • I grew up listening to Keith Green and every once in awhile my heart comes home...So thank you for posting this...

  • did y'all ever hear the story about how Keith badgered Randy Stonehill to come up with these lyrics? It's hilarious to hear Randy tell it.

  • This is just an amazing song, has to be my favorite by him.

Can't wait to meet him! :)

  • I was blessed to see Keith way back in Indianapolis IN years ago, His music has always blessed my soul and has always brought me to my kness Blessing Jesus as savior of my life!!

  • Such a great song. Such a wonderful Messianic Jewish/Christian man and musician who was so sincere, genuine and giving. He and the other 11 on the plane that crashed left us far too soon years ago. One of those Isaiah 57:1 mysteries that only God knows the answer to. Looking forward to meeting this man in the Kingdom of Messiah Jesus to come! We love you, Keith!

  • @nealixd Amen, I can't wait to tell him how much I love him as my brother in the Lord and how his music touched my soul!

  • This song gives me goosebumps. Rest in Peace Keith Green. Hope to see you in heaven.

  • I love this song, but I must admit I love Second Chapter of Acts version, but then I had a serious crush on Annie Herring. :{)

  • I can't believe this song is THIRTY FOUR years old !!

  • This song is about my spiritual trying to get God's approval and acceptance and how He showed me all my heart needed to do was let Him in and take over...gave me His Eternal Life, Love, Joy and much, much more! Take Him at His word!

  • I love this man... He lead me to the love of Christ... I mean this mans voice is so powerful it fights demons and negative energy with every word he sings. Bless this man for his love for God. If it was not for him I do not know what I would do. He music blesses me in happy times and some not so good times.

  • one of my favorite Keith Green songs

  • This song is a dedication to all people who are torn and lost THANK YOU Keith for restoring my hope again

  • This is my life story. Thank you Lord.

  • A message we all need to remember. We sometimes forget that it is simple: God & Jesus Christ love us, regardless. We need to always talk to them, and give them our worries, sins, etc. and They will always be with us. ALWAYS....trying not to cry right now..........

  • love you god =]

  • I first heard Keith's music on a missionary trip to Mexico with my church youth group back in 1984. I was 17. We listened to "For him who has ears to hear" all the way there and back, over and over. We never got tired of it. We put some serious milage on that tape. That was my intro to contemporary Christain music and I have loved it ever since. God bless Keith.

  • This song is the first song that Keith wrote after his conversion. It's his testimony, and his most powerful. You can feel the power of his conviction.

    Praise be to God!

  • it's so sad he died along with his two kids

  • Nostalgia

  • One of Keith's first (and I think best) songs ... very cool.

  • Just hearing this song made something spring to life inside me. Something i thought was slowly fading. I am happy i was pointed toward this song. I have sang it for years but never really listened to it i guess.

  • Ah, another good one. Thank you Lord, for making the foolish WISE in You. Turn our hearts to You, our FIRST love, forgive our sins and give us the strength by Your Holy Spirit to turn from the darkness to you, the EVERLASTING LIGHT! Bless and Praise You God and Our Lord Jesus Christ-COME, COME, COME QUICKLY, rescue us and cleanse us each day. Praise be to the name of Jesus Christ, God's ONLY begotten Son!

  • cant wait to worship ALMIGHTY GOD in HEAVEN with this guy!

  • Mr Green sung his heart on his sleeve...his love for Jesus was evident, and he shared that love with the lost and hurting...the world truly lost a wonderful artist and man of God...i was 17 and remember the news reporting of the death of Keith in a plane crash...will never forget that sad day

  • I truly hope to not only join him in heaven, but be able to sing with him there as well.

  • @karrie20x ~ Amen! Great reply...me, too!

  • why is everyone arguing who wrote the song?

  • great song...who wrote this?

  • the man you were looking at for 3 min. and 29 seconds.... aka keith green

  • ...right..i thought so...some claim Randy Stonehill did

  • @wonenergy The Holy Spirit wrote it. Look inside for the kingdom.

  • @matthewwp56 Amen!

  • @ wonenergy- I believe not only did Keith Green write it, but it was co-written with Phil Keaggy, I think. He also did a version of it and so did Randy Stonehill- a great friend of Keith's. It was Randy who kind of led Keith and his wife Melody to the Lord. Keith is with the Lord now as of 1982.

  • thanks for your reply..I am aware of the whole scene...there is info that says that it was originally written by keith and Randy...not that it really matters ...it's a great song ...one spirit ;-)

  • @wonenergy Keith Green

  • My mission in life now is to help others find Jesus and to come to Him. I am 44 years old and have lived through many difficult times in my life that should have brought me down...... 6 feet under the ground but I never let go of God. I want to help others, this is my mission. Please, if anyone knows someone that is suffering, please direct them to my channel. I will do everything that the Holy Spirit guides me to do.

  • This song really helped me through some serious depression a couple of years ago. Jesus Lives! God Rules!

  • You are on the right track. Praise God Always. When you are depressed, God will always be there to help you through your hard times. I am 44 years old and God has brought pulled me out of so many situations that I thought was going to be the last of me. He is always there at our side. He will allow us to make our own choices and at times we wonder where He is but he never leaves our side. When we fall down and we really reach out to him with all our heart, He is there. PRAISE GOD!

  • I just love this song! Thanks for posting!

  • I'm not a christian either, but this touches my heart deeply.I once went with a friend to a concert at which Keith Green told everyone present that if any of them hadn't enough money for his music, they could simply have it.I found that shocking but I thought-this guy really means this! Now, I work in "ghettos" in Ireland;there are days when others lack of caring about what they are supposed to be doing makes me so sad;remembering this fellow and the work he and his wife did helps save my heart

  • sry but i didnt really catch it, r u not a christian and just looking into it?

  • I grew up in a "Christian" home. It's not my own belief anymore.

  • Do not let the enemy, satan claim victorious over your soul. The seed was planted while you grew up and it can be sowed again. Maybe you are confused now and I would like to help you through your tough time. Do not lose sight of God and all His glory. I almost did. You are not Satan child. He is a deceiver and liar and will laugh at your pain. Come back to Jesus.

  • @donnarn7 and what can he do? ive tried. we r all a bunch of latch key kids. dogs sitting at the table waiting for scraps to fall. im a little pissed right now! where is he when we need him the most. oh i forgot.....all in his time. yes ive heard all the pat answers.......

  • @ tsueca

Yeah I love keith grens music, however I was once a christian, so I get the feelings behind it and the desire for something better.

  • tsueca.

I just re read my comment to you. I sound like |I am into myself. lol just ignore me.

    peace

  • No worries. I get what you're saying; it's my own feeling. Thanks, anyway. Peace to you as well. T.

  • Awesome song. though now it is my song of coming out of christianity and realizing that its not true. weird.

    thanks for posting

  • I was sad to read this. What persuaded you that "it's not true"? Have you turned your back on organised Christian religion or on Jesus Himself?

  • Howdy purplestar9902. I 'turned my back' on christianity itself mainly because I see that much of it just simply isn't true. Sure if we focus on only the nice things said in the bible it sounds great, and that can be done with any book. Personal experience, study and lots of prayer has shown me that this god is imaginary. Jesus was ok with some things and terrible with others.

I know you and Keith would disagree, but I would agree to disaggree. :0

    peace

  • I don't just focus on the nice things in the Bible. One of the most famous stories in the Bible is the beginning of Genesis when God kicks Adam and Eve right out of the Garden of Eden. What about that is nice? Another is the Book of Revelation, which is the harshest book of them all. I know there are certain parts of the Bible that people have been skeptical on and have argued over for centuries, but that's what makes it such a powerful book, whether you believe in it or not.

  • @cjunk351

Why are there so may internally unhappy tenth rate -"intellectuals" on youtube?

  • @periechontology Becuase youtube is availabe to anyone with the internet and many many religious people get online. You mean you seriously do not know why??? Same reasons content people are on here no doubt....to watch or upload videos

  • Funny, I also find that this song reminds me of letting go of my own faith."I've been lost, in a fantasy ,that blinded me"...indeed

  • LOL. Yes those are the words that mean a lot to me now more than before. I never saw it coming.

  • He was lost in a fantasy that blinded him before His love broke through. It's about letting go of religion and accepting God love that is above religion. It's about realizing that he doesn't need to DO anything to BE christian, because Christianity is not a religion.

I hope you find a good reason to celebrate Christmas this year cuz what good is Christmas without Jesus in your lives?

God bless you and keep you even if you feel like letting go. = )

  • Over and over, I find that anyone who says Christianity is not true has no idea what true Christianity is. Keep mocking, you are really just making a fool of yourself.

  • there was no mocking, now you are just making a fool out of yourself. Over and over again christian after christian seem to immediately take the emotional defensive route. Anything I have said here has actually been nice, so you must get deeply offended simply because someone says they know christianity is rubbish. You dont seem very secure in your belief.

And I no doubt no more about christianity than you ever will

  • what a song, what an artist, what a message, what a blessing to the body of Christ

  • i feel so sad when i think of how much his wife must have suffered losing him and their two young children!

  • Dont forget there was nine other people on that plane.

  • This is the story of my life. Thank God he changed my life and now I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. 5****! Awesome! Harold

  • I Love Keith Greens Music!!!

  • This is my favorite Keith Green song of all time. I find the words to it so easy to identify with.

  • I agree stealthman56, his music never fails to cut me deeply and make me hungry for Jesus Christ and a closer walk with Him.

  • you're an Idiot

  • What a blessing it is to the body of Christ for the Lord to have saved Keith Green. He used the years after his salvation to be a flaming testimony for our risen Savior. Praise the Lord!
