I love playing The Third Republic. What you have to do is when there's more than 1 player (yourself), you have to put your railroads right along side theirs and make them have to ride on your railroad. I have gotten so many people liquidated doing this

I'm doing a LP/walktrough myself for Railroad tycoon 2, wich i find slightly better then 3. RRT 3 is still the real deal but a little bit dumbed down. Railroads is completely ridiculous, i could finish that one with my eyes closed if i didn't get bored of it :D.

Here's my strategy for this game:

Click on the globe thing (bottom right button on the button panel of 9 buttons) to see what kind of resources are available at each city. If you see two cities with lots of stacks of something (loads of goods) then connect those cities.

Second, if you see a supply, like a cattle ranch, and a demand, like a meat packing plant, not too close by, then connect the two and repeat for other industries.
