It's a tragedy of our time that wars are started solely on rumors propagated by intl media, even the security council has been duped into believing that Gaddafi's forces were bombing civilian demonstrators which facilitated the passing of resolution 1973 authorizing a no fly zone in Libya and then quickly changed into a regime change and direct targeting of Gaddafi.

While you're at it, look up Libya's position in the Human Development Index relative to the rest of Africa. Check for things like: health care, literacy rate, unemployment, homelessness, average standard of living - and then compare them under Gaddafi to prior.

Read on ABC newsite: Libya's African Assets. I often wondered how the Libyans did so well despite the Sanctions. All their investments were making vast amounts of money in Africa. It kind of explains why his African Leaders (brothers) turned on him by accepting the No Fly Zone. Libya was the major shareholder of these assets. @mispistoleros WOW Just looked up "Desertec" and it seems reasonable, it may turn out to be a red herring tho like the whole "Oil pipeline" thing did in Afghanistan. I can see why in their "obstacles" section (corruption in CERTAIN African countries and lack of cross-border communication). It is possible his son ordered the mercenaries, but this doesn't hold up to the evidence shown in this video & others where it shows they were Libyans whose skin was black were being persecuted.
