Ugh...everyone is so expectant and annoying. And the freaking camera man wouldn't back off. Hello? Birds are a pretty skittish by nature; what made him think that getting all up in Snowball's space was going to help? Jerk. Snowball can dance and it's awesome, he doesn't need to prove it live to every talk show host.
@sandykoong I was the one with stage fright. Snowball just didn't like the camera man running around so much. He kept his eye on the camera man with the hand-held camera running around because he didn't trust him. I don't blame Snowball...I didn't trust him either. LOL
Those two are making him so uncomfortable because they won't stop egging him on. maybe if they just shut up and watched him it would seem more like home and he would be more inclined to dance. dumbass hosts>.> beautiful bird btw, he's absolutely adorable:) i had a cockatiel named gandalf and had to give him away cus of expenses got tight, but while i did have him he was nothing less than a member of my family. i loved that bird to death
@Loorsey It was the cameraman that was freaking him out. I asked him backstage not to run up to Snowball with the camera or to run circles around him...he didn't listen.
Please go to Bird Lovers Only Rescue's main web page to receive books, DVDs, tshirts, and other items in return for your generous donation. Your donations are tax deductible and help keep us in operation by providing for food, vet visits, and toys.
Snowball is so cute. I'd love a bird like that, but I don't have the money or the time to give one the care and attention they need. Your videos are the next best thing though, thanks.
We will try to capture his laughter on film. He laughs when he wants to so it's very hard to catch it...we'd need to let the camera run until he finds something funny enough to laugh hysterically.
Snowballs reaction is so damn normally that this conversation is completely insicnificant.
Imagine you`d be an animal that lives alone with his family and then there is a show where big cameras and flashy lights are watching you and there are strange people who are loud and seem just to look for your attention in a strange way...
On the contrary, Snowball LOVES an audience. He just doesn't like strangers running up to him with cameras, or hosts waving their hands in his face, etc. Animals do not understand what our intentions are, so it's a distraction to anything they are doing at the time.
I love him, he's so GREAT :D I think birds get shy with other poeople around or with the ones they don't know. And Snowball is not trained to perform, he seems to do it naturally when he's comfortable and happy. Maybe circus birds will dance away in front of the audience and when they've told to because they've trained to do so ... Looks like he needs time to warm up and get comfortable and then he'd do it naturally. And TV staff that doesn't really know how to handle birds won't help much!
I don't understand why all these hosts are completely oblivious to this fact. I'm more of a ferret person myself, but even I know that birds tend to be a little more selective of the people they enjoy. Regardless of the type of animal, most animals tend to act differently around people they don't know, especially large groups of laughing people.
Hopefully you'll eventually find a host that knows how to act around your precious, and quite adorable, Snowball! <3
I've yet to see a TV personality yet that knows how to handle a bird as a guest. The one thing I would have mentioned to them is, not to have him so close to new people, and for them not to have things in their hands. Snowball was most likely curious, not scared. Parrots are generally speaking curious about everything, and they aren't normally thrilled with new things or people coming too close to them or moving quickly. I don't know Snowball, but I know Cockatoos, and that can be a problem.
hey irena snowball is the cuttest bird i have ever seen!! I have a parrot called homer, but he has one serious problem, when i bought him he was stuck with many other birds in a bag since then he is extremely agresive to anything that aproaches him to fast but he just loves talking to my dog I think they do a great duo. You are doing an excellent job keep going!!!
This is absolutely amazing. I cannot believe how great he is. I actually have a Congo African Grey at the animal hospital i work at who also dances when you play music. My clients love playing ringtones on their phone for him to dance to. Of course he is no way as good as snowball. Wish i could teach him how to dance like that.
Irena Schulz will be presenting the research on Snowball at the World Science Festival in New York City in June. Snowball will be making special appearances and dancing his little feet off.

You're exactly right! If there was a facility to rehabilitate birds slowly back into the wild, that would work. If they could "learn" how to forage for food in the wild, that might work.
Snowball is such a wonderfully musical bird with a great rhythm in him. I wish those hosts would use kinder words. What does he mean by "snowball's chance in heck"? That was rude! What does a regular person do when he/she first meets with glaring lights and screaming audience? Irena you have done such a great job. Thank you for your rescuing efforts for all birds. Please keep up the good work! Love you Snowball and Irena!
It was mostly the cameraman that was freaking out Snowball. He kept running up to Snowball with this huge camera in his face. Thank you for the reminder to donate - I totally agree that if everyone donated a little bit Snowball would be living in an amazing sanctuary. Thank you so much for posting these videos! They made me smile :)
Snowball is global & he's doing his part to help raise money for the rescue & just think, if everyone watching these videos would send in just one dollar ($1.00) how fast that would add up. I can't do much with $1.00 but if we combine them the rescue could build the bird habitat.
The show that was taped at FOX News will be on in early April. The producer will let us know the exact day/time as the time approaches. Snowball was pure ham once again!
He actually loves an audience, but he was spooked by the cameraman running up to him with the camera. He didn't understand if the cameraman wanted to hurt him or what. So whenever a cameraman or anyone else approaches, he stops dancing to check them out. We were just interviewed by FOX News today and he was blowing kisses to them!!!
We are currently raising funds to build a bird habitat for Snowball and birds like him here at the rescue/sanctuary. Please visit our main web site to receive Snowball DVDs, shirts, and other items in return for your donations. Thank you so very much for your support!!!

Have patience. Watch your birds. There is something they do that will "grab" you as well as Snowball's antics.
It's up to us to use our intelligence to figure out what's good for our birds. They respond in their own way.
I adopted a couple of mistreated birds. They distrusted and feared people. Check my channel for how they developed in their own way.
As one, Jake, was getting older, he taught me about bravery at the end of life. This was a life lesson - from a bird the size of your birds.
