I KNow the em spectrum , but have soem questions::
Several FLIRS and IRST's on jets can see heat trails emitted from the engines of other jets in the area for distances of around half a mile, this ill attribute to emissivity of JP fuel when heated... but normal Thermal cameras only see the how engine itself, why is this? WHat does it take to see heated gases? We'll never be able to see a person's "heat trail" of heated air ( air is only opaqur in UV) until someone does exactly what with IR? tbc
My question is, why wasn't the thermal absorption properties of CO2 gone over in more detail. More specificly, the fact that a higher concentration of C02 doesn't mean a higher absorption rate of thermal energy, and that carbon dioxide absorbs radiation in narrow bands, which means most radiation goes around it.
lol lets put a huge acrylic sphere around the earth!

my question were can I get a thermal infrared camera like this for a good price?

several electricians use them now for faault finding ,they can be ordered through most electrical wholesalers, from FLUKE.
