I have three acres in the country. One day I saw a grackle tearing up a robins nest, I chased it by making noise. The next day I declared war on these birds when I saw them watch a robin spend about twenty minutes looking for a worm. When the robin pulled up the worm, three of those black devils descended, attacked the robin, and stole its worm. Now I use a shotgun on them. My yard is now a sanctuary for robins, nuthatch, blue bird, chickadee, orioles, and many others, not mean birds.

The Ruger Air Hawk is a great gun and shoots well over 950 fps. If it were a chest shot or head shot, that thing would drop DEAD. However, you most likely hit it in the butt or tail area, maybe even in its foot.

Bushnell and leapers are really good for the money but under $60 you really limit yourself and if you bump that up to $97 you can get a 1-4x28 30mm tube which lets in more light. Do you want an adjustable objective lens? or fixed magnification?

Hey outdoorresser, I just got a ruger air hawk. and ive sighted it in pretty well but might need some more fine tuning. But my only issue is that im not a very steady shot and even when laying down I cant hit the bird i have a 4x32 scope and it might not be well sighted in but ive had mulitiple shots directly on the bird and they still just fly away... i shot at about... 5-8 birds and didnt hit one, i was wondering if you could make a vid of how you shoot and maybe give me some tips. when you shoot paper, what size groups center-to-center do u get. to find that out, shoot a group of 5 shots on paper, and find the point where the pellets are spread out most. measure that and then divide by .177 of an inch (cause that's the caliber). then tell me, ok? unless you already know. or if u just wanna be fast tell me like quarter-sized or whatever. also, what range are you shooting? airguns are best for hunting within 50 yards (especially .177 caliber like the Air Hawk)

in a Ruger Air Hawk 1000, probably not a good idea to use PBA ammo. it generally isn't that accurate, it's too light, and damages the spring over time. it would be good ammo if it were more consistant. Gamo has tried to lower the price by rushing it's production. the result is expensive pellets that are deformed, too light, damaging to the gun, and even less worth the price than they were before. as for what he actually used, i'm not sure. just wanted to give my opinion on PBA.
