  • Well, my initial reaction is not good. Seemed a lot like kickboxing to me, what were the rules of this event?

  • Yep, the Taiji Legacy still has aways to go. Personally I prefer my students attend local Tae Kwon Do for Sparring. They are safer and have more well defined tradition and rules. The above clip is from Continious Sparring which is scored by who makes the most hits. No sweeps, no groin attack, no face contact, no excess force.

  • It tends to look like a brawl of sort which fine in my as long as that is what competitors understand they are getting into. I think the excess roughness should be put in the full contact shiao jiao events instead.

  • I must say I'm impressed with the honesty and wisdom in your reply. Perhaps you are onto something good afterall. In a few days I hope to start posting my own vid's showing some cross dicipline sparring I've been organising, I would like to know what you think if you don't mind my messaging you?

  • Sounds great. I would be happy to.

  • oh so no fighting then ?

  • I think if you hit your opponents head or upper body you get one point. Thats what I do when I am in a sparring match.

This isn't the best. They need to be hitting each other faster.
