  • Where can I get that butane pipe lighter?

  • @jsmith6503 I got mine on ebay, but you might do a google search to find dealers who sell them. Mine is a Colibri Coughnaut II and I am happy with it.

  • @SmokeRingsPipeDreams Crap...welp, I thought that was the JOBON in your reviews video and bought that on ebay before I got this reply. Oh well. The JOBON should work ok, but I would've preferred to have the Colibri. How does the JOBON compare in your experience?

  • @jsmith6503 It was good till I kind of ruined it. There is a video in my playlists under lighters what happened to it. LOL

  • @smokeRingsPipeDreams Ok thank you I just don't want to wait like 1 month when I buy them online cause there are no stores within 200 miles that sell those pacific pipe cleaners so fore now all I use are Qtips and paper towel they don't really work to well tho

  • @Yummypikletits If they are absorbent cotton they might work fine, just take a good look at them.

  • Sorry kel stupid iPod auto corect anyways would normal white pipe cleaners from the dollar store work?

  • @Yummypikletits As long as they are actually made for cleaning pipes. The pipe cleaners places like Michael's sells aren't really for cleaning pipes. (the material isn't absorbent)

  • Hey kel would normal white pipe cleaners frome the doller

  • Kel - will be talking about filters or have you alredy made a video about them - I'm new to pipes - have not got mine delivered yet -

  • @FlankerTanker The'll be talk of filters in section two of How to smoke a pipe.

  • hey there kel I was just wondering do you also need a screen, I'm new to smoking a pipes , Cheers guys

  • @mrdopeman90 None of my pipes have them.

  • One other piece of equipment I consider essential now that I have one is an ash tray with a cork knob in the center for tapping out the pipe on.

Also, there are two types of pipe cleaners. One is straight cotton and the other has nylon bristles embedded in the cottong. Obviously these last do a better job of cleaning, but I hate them because those nylon bristles dig into the skin on your fingers and hurt!

  • I have been using strike-anywhere kitchen size matches lately. The heads on these contain phosphorus, sulfur, potassium, chlorine, and oxygen atoms. I think with a mix like that it is always wise to let the head burn down before bringing the match to the pipe.

  • Hey, do you have ghosts in your house? What is that eerie breath sound that happens at 24 seconds into the video?

  • @poegogh That is the ghost of pipe smokings past!

  • I use a zippo lighter thsat was designed for pipes.

  • Good job, Kel. Informative, helpful to beginners, and probably one of your SHORTEST videos to date! :) - Jeff

  • @StogieFarts I need to make my videos shorter in general. But I just like hearing myself talk I think. LOL

  • My local tobacconist went bust today :(

  • @ApococyteAlpha where do you live?

  • With matches, I like to let the sulfur burn off first. The sulfur leaves a nasty taste. I wait 2-3 seconds after striking the match before lighting the pipe. Have you tried that? If not you should!

  • @Capitanvolume I have, but it's not the sulfer I was refering to, it's the taste of burning wood I don't like. Some guys may actually like that, but it's not for me.

  • Great video as always Kel! I've been smoking for a few months (pipes I mean, Cigars much longer) but that gurgle tip was great because I sometimes have issues with that!

  • @Jorgie0101 Some pipes just want to gurgle, and some tobacco just wants to be gurgly! :)

  • Have you got a video on packing a pipe?

  • @Willjbooth not yet, but it's coming.

  • you are making some great vids kel

some great advice there my friend

    keep em smoking

  • I just saw all your tags lol

  • @PipeFriendCHS I add tags for different videos, copy them to a folder and just leave them on there. Some of those are left over from my video on "how to deal with manipulative women". LOL

  • Got it, I'll get to it right away... pipe first he he he. Cheers, Harvey

  • @hjrosasq LOL

  • Ahhh... I think you can get cheaper pipes online. My local tobacconist will gouge you so hard your grandkids will feel the pinch. And thank you also for all the GREAT info when I started smoking a year ago. For some reason when I started all tobacco tasted like crap, but I have since learned to taste and like pipe tobacco, Love it actually. : )

  • @1fatbastard You're welcome Man, I'm glad you finally got there@

  • thanks for the vids! Im still on the hunt for a ser jacapo. Clearly I have to get more aggresive with my ebay bidding! LOL!

  • @HighEfficiencyCrush You'll love it!

  • Thanks for sharing your tips on pipe smoking. Great videos!

  • A good cure for a gurgling pipe is covering the top of the bowl with your hand and gently blowing through the pipe for a few seconds. Clears mine up and I enjoy because I don't use up a pipe cleaner. I get pretty frugal for some reason with pipe cleaners. We're all weird in some way, I suppose. -Happy Smoking!

  • Kel i just wanted to tell you thanks for getting me into smoking a pipe. p.s. keep on smoking

  • @chrishornsby13 You're welcome Chris!
