I think what bmw lost was the essence of the WIDE aggressive stance! the e46 m3 was a body builder of a machine! they kinda took the new M series on a diet and slim them down a notch. Still looks sexy BUT not aggressive; only the quad exhaust resemble aggressiveness.

@ biscuitninja listen you supercharge or turbo any car to beat any supercar, its pointless, unless you want to race in a straight line. having a 1000rwhp m3 vs say one supercharged to 410rwhp which is fine i guarantee the supercharged one will win around the track,that car isn't made to go around a track w/that much power,even a viper acr which doesn't have that power would smoke the 1000 rwhp m3,name the 6 cyl thats making 500 hp thats stock and is in the same price range or class as the m3

Going fast around a track is essentially a few basic things:

1 - Power to weight ratio

2 - Driver skill

3 - Car set up/tires

I also agree...I drive the new model (E92 335i), but still love the E46. The only reason I didnt buy the E46 was because the kilos on them were already high and out of motorplan

I love the E46s they are so much more elegant than the new M3. Unfortunatley they don't make much hp.... :(

No, it isn't When there are guys rolling around with 500-600-700hp cars. Saw a M3 with a 410rwhp inline size (superchrged).

Your not understanding the concept. He says the E46 M3 (3.2 Liter Engine) doesnt have enough horsepower than the new E90 and I told him how much more hp can you get from a 3.2 . 700 hp isnt close to what this guy i know who comes to my meets every sunday. 1001 hp E46 m3.
