it's a really a great country . went to tobruk twice . but one thing is very strange , the whole marketplace shuts between 1300 hrs to 1600 hrs. anyways the food is awesome specially the shorba.

LOL I think Google Earth would never be able to get shots like these...this guy is an artist and a professional at capturing breath taking images...is not just a satellite zooming on Earth from outer space.

While his shots are more detailed, I wouldn't call them breath taking. I still have breath after seeing them.

And the satellite taking shots of the Earth is not to be scoffed at, either. :P

Some images can get high-res enough that you can actually see a dudes face walkin' down the streets. Not on G-Earth, obviously, since that would be illegal. :P

I still dont think that a satellite could take pictures as gorgeous as the ones taken by a professional photographer...it takes skill, technique, but over all just the instinct to capture that one moment that would make that photo amazing.  As to why you still have breath after seeing this images just lets me know that you dont really appreciate photography or dont know about photography other than to press button on your digital camera.

First off, I meant like... the area. If it's the pictures then yes, he can claim that it's pictures that've never before been seen, but the area has been mapped from orbit. :/

And photography isn't THAT hard. People just want it to be that hard cause it shows how "deep" and "artistic" they are. e_e

And then you get every teenage girl with a camera thinking she's so deep and whatnot cause she can take pics in black and white or things like half of their shoe or some shit...

Nobody wants to put out lots of money for a camera.

I'm not saying there isn't something to it, I'm just saying it's way over hyped.

The problem with art is not so much the product as much as the viewers. They tend to demand that it be a thing that only smart people can understand so they make up these huge elaborate thing about how the picture is so this or so that. It's just always this... thing. I dunno.

well, here's an idea, go out and spend 5,000 dollars on a camera, learn how to use it, and see if you get the same results. you'd be amazed as to what images a real camera could capture. If he were using a 100 dollar kodak camera, then I'd say they're photoshopped.
