  • I always remember going to Terry's (Jet's) house in Gloucester when he was married to i think his second or third wife Margaret and playing in the garden with his son Sam, magical day's.. He was a good friend of my Dad's (John Cole senior) and sometime's my Dad would get him to play a couple of tunes,, He was BRILLIANT!!!! Rest in peace Terry Harris.....

  • i don't no what to say. This was one of my first tunes I loved. JET .STAR

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Jet in 1990, he was playing in my local pub with another musician and only played a few songs. It was my 18th birthday and he bought me a drink and we sat and talked about guitars for most of the night. Such a nice man, very funny, very humble. I'm glad he found some success again later in the 90s.

    R.I.P Jet Harris.

  • What a great shot of Little Richard, Gene Vincent Sam Cooke and Jet Harris altogether.

  • Tu es au paradis des Rockers, Jet , jamais tu ne seras oublié.

  • RIP, The sound of 50s-60s Britain.

  • RIP Jet.

  • very sad, more and more legends of Rock 'n Roll leave us. I also was a bass player in a band during the sixtees, Jet was something like an Idol to me. RIP Jet. I'll hope, no I'm shure,R & R will never die!

  • Logging in from Wellington,New Zealand. RIP old buddy. Your music will remain forever.

  • thanks for the memories .

  • @Lester1Beck I believes Bruce Welch always in contact with Jet Harris. He even invited him many time in Shadowmania.Too bad they didnt invite him during The Shadows Final Tour in 2004/Cliff and The Shadows Final Reunion Tour in 2009.

  • Jet was the founder of The Shadows and there music. When he was in Tilburg, Holland, I had a personel contact with him. I buyed a Fender Strat with signature on the back of the haed. I will remember him and while I,m a true ventures fan, I liked his stile. REST IN PEACE.

  • I KNEW JET HARRIS PERSONLY, HE LIVE ABOUT A HUNDRED YARDS AWAY FROM ALSO HAD THE PLEASURE OF HIS COMPANY ONE NIGHT, IM A SHADOWS FAN, AND HE KNOCKED ON THE DOOR AND JOINED,THAT WAS SOME YEARS AGO MIND, RIP JET,oops

    tom in gloucester

  • A bit harsh Lester1Beck, didn't Bruce invite Jet to play at Shadowmania a few years ago?

Really sad for the loss of a brilliant musician, I was hoping to get to see him and would loved to have heard the growling Bass on Man from Nowhere. RIP Jet.

  • @Lester1Beck That's a bit harsh I suppose, but point made...

  • the Apache will remain strong..RIP

  • Another guitar hero had left us, a great character...RIP Jet !!

  • Next to Hank Marvin, Jet was one of the best guitarists. RIP Jet.

  • "Diamond" indeed, and left a similar undestroyable mark, on this here planet.

  • I took Janet to the Fernham Hall in Fareham the Night she met Jet and I got to know him very well.

He was a very quiet man in private, quite modest.

    Rest In Peace Jet

    Ron aka Roy.

  • r.i.p dad...are always love you and i mean what what i said in my letter.xxx

  • Jet,you were the greatest, farewell my hero. The day the music died. RIP

  • I got to know Jet very well in the 70s when he was living in Gloucester and gigging with the Diamonds. He practised at the Red lion in Barton st where landlord Jim Budd was his manager. He had difficulty obtaining recordings of the early Drifters tracks for the band to learn - fortunately I had them all. I was playing in a band at the time and put Jet in touch with our agent Norman Broady who was able to get him bookings on the same circuit. As a result our paths often crossed - good days

  • i was fortunate enough to have played with jet when he was in cornwall he was wonderful both as a musician and friend!we will dearly miss him!! rock on jet!

  • we were privileged to see jet harris on stage with marty wilde in november in halifax what a fantastic guy so talented and so funny sadly gone but his music will live forever R.I.P helen and danny smith

  • Jet Harris what can I say, influenced my husband for years since the beginning. remember him from very early days with the shadows to concerts at the Fairfields halls. He was a very funny man with a dry sense of humour but brilliant on the bass guitar. What a player thanks for the memories Jet. You were and still are a star.

  • How sad..he was the one who you thought would leap out at you if you gave them any lip.

Time certainly passes but RIP Jet..I loved the music.

  • Thankfully, I saw Jet perform with Marty and Roxy Wilde, Eden Kane and the Wildcats last November (2010) and was lucky to obtain his autograph after the show. 'His performance of Diamonds was faultless as was the delivery of his dry humour. I'm only 32 but love sixties music. It's sad that these great artists can't go on forever, although I know their music will, and as long as those hits are still played they live on. Rest in peace Jet, you're a Diamond.

  • RIP Jet, another one bites the dust xxx

  • thanks.

  • RIP Jet, you were my first guitar hero. Saw you and Tony Meehan at Cardiff's Capital Theatre all those years ago.

  • R.I.P. Jet We shall miss you!

  • RIP Jet Harris.

You were the best, Thanks for the memories

    Steve

  • jet was a true rocker, a nice guy and a fantastic bass player. RIP

  • @The170460 Sorry to hear Jet's gone, I didn't know, wasn't on our news in Australia in Perth I don't think. I've been a fan of Cliff and The Shadows since they began. First saw Cliff and the group in UK Bradford I think in the 60s, so Jet would have been with them then. He was a good-looking lad, the best looker in the group at the time. Seven years older than me. Thanks for the music Jet! Remember him and Tony forming The Applejacks when they left The Shadows.
