  • you guys should be grateful, try living as a malaysian, then you know what is heaven and hell

  • What farsightedness!

  • People might find tons of mistakes during his reign, however unless Singapore economy down the drain like Greece, nobody can really say this guy make huge mistake. Singapore is basically still in one piece compared to other nations.

  • Thank you. There is no perfect country in this world. Each have their own fault with ideology and politics. As long as the country and majority of its citizens are well looked after - with a good GNP and standard of living and good health system - you are doing very well. Look at Europe - what a mess! Look at USA ! 14 milion people out of work and many more foreclosures. At the same time, look at 3rd world countries like Burma and Somalia, etc., I would not live there, would you?

  • People who have not lived for quite a while in other countries and have not had the opportunity to observe certain philosphies, corruption, ideologies and government policies, do not realise that they may have a paradise in their own backyard. There is always dissatisfaction and policies that do not suit everyone in each country. So long as the good and success of the people and the country overides the bad - you are close to success and happiness. The neighbour's grass is always greener!

  • @MsRwong you are right :) the Singaporeans are lucky to have him, Look at us here in Pakistan with all the resources and man power and talent we are not a nation, its all because we do not have a leader like LKY.. Singapore is blessed

  • @Hajumula Hey you Paki, Please stop carrying Singapore Balls! Pakistan and Singapore are 2 different countries with different land size, economy, cultures, races etc. You know nothing about Singapore politics, you just want to get a Singapore passport to get out of your own misery. Managing a Majority Chinese in Singapore in a small space is much different to manage than your Pakistanis in your country. Don't try to praise us to "angkat bola". If you don't know what that word means you know nuts

  • 6.12 epic!

  • ""I will make him crawl on his bended knees, and beg for mercy."

    -Lee Kuan Yew.

SINGAPOEANS SHOULD AND WILL STILL SEEK JUSTICE FOR ALL ACCOUNTABILITY & WRONG-DOINGS AGAINST YEW EVEN AFTER HE (YEW) RETIRES OR QUITS FROM POLITICS! PAY BACK TIME!

  • STAND UP AND STAND STRONG WITH SINGAPOREANS AGAINST THE INSANITY OF THE MESS THAT PAP HAS DONE BY GREATLY DAMAGING THE HEARTS AND SOULS AND SPIRITS OF SINGAPOREANS! BE UNITED WITH SINGAPOREAN BROTHERS & SISTERS AND SEEK BACK WHAT BELONGS TO SINGAPOREANS -- THE NATION! UNITED AS LIONS AGAINST THE SCAVENGERS OF DOOM - PAP! NO VOTES TO PAP BUT FOR ANY OTHER OPPOSITION PARTY! REMEMBER, TRUE SONS & DAUGHTERS OF SINGAPORE!

  • ahem 'because he understands people are intrinsically at fault' I think you can read something similar in the Koran. Is he totally honest? I doubt it. I'm not, are you? I'd be grateful you don't have his job.

  • he loves power, but he is not a fascist nor is he a eugenicist, although he certainly remembers them. Most politicians don't hang on this long, ergo he loves Singapore. He possibly worries about things that may return or may not. He has rewarded his family and his ministers because. You should live somewhere else for a while. I'd recommend Whitechapel, that'll toughen you up. Alternatively you could stay, grow a couple and fight it out here. After all it's your country mate : )

  • singapore has so many high ranking of having the best busies airport , best airline, busiest port , best education ranking, voted best judiciary, least corrupt police, rank top best place to do business, US$36,000 GDP one of the highest, more than 80% own flats, millions travel abroad for holidays yearly, less than 3% jobless, what else do you want ? Sky the limit or asking for heaven?

Republic of Singapore meant it is ruled by the people!

Do not mixed with the idea of democratic with thr republic.

You have all the right to voice your opinion, I do respect that, will Lee Kuan yew Respect controversal views and comment, no no, he is a control freak! so is PAP. "Do what you are told and you will have freedom", "Give up your licerty for freedom", "Cut your pay so the big company will survive", "You have all the freedom of speech, just say it within the free speech zone".

    Ha Ha Ha! joker!

  • @kenzrushz

  • @koklim82 No need, I can tell how chaotic the education system is by your poor grammar :-)

  • hi apek,ur jacket vey outdatted

  • LKY has clearly slowed down. Observed his speech at 1.57 and 1.58 where he uttered the word "aspiration" twice and mumbling something else...

  • In 2009, All Singaporean, thanks to NDP have pledge themselve to the all seeing eye of the New World Order!

What a Prick Tricks! Wake up Singaporean.

  • @LeeKwangEng Any proof?

  • @1XMarksSpot

    Search NDP 2009.

See what's the thing on stage.

And all the people said their pledge to where the flag is, and wher is the flag? in the eye!

Deal with it, we are a country that is controlled by illuminati, freemasons, the satan faith, the new world order f@#$.

  • The basis of the constitution is based on human born rights!

Human have these rights with birth!

Speach and believes, the rights to pursue happiness, liberty.

Anyone who denied this is a tyranny. Thats Lee K Y.

Government serves us, not the other way around!

You can disagree with me, you have no rights to censor me! Take that LKY!

  • Constitiution is a contract between Govern Body and the people who are being govern. Law should not come in between them. law should only comes from this "contract" and based only on this contract.

under no circumstances should constitution should be denied because of "Law".

So we should re-written our constitution!

    Our government is not constitutional!

    They violate our human rights!

Change the system is what we need to do!

Lee is bull shitting. No matter what he said!

  • so in effect what he is saying that malays and chinese and indians and other races are not equal?

  • "If it is not totalitarian to arrest a man and detain him, when you cannot charge him with any offence against any written law - if that is not what we have always cried out against in Fascist states - then what is it?If we are to survive as a free democracy, then we must be prepared, in principle, to concede to our enemies - even those who do not subscribe to our views - as much constitutional rights as you concede yourself." - Opposition leader LKY, Legislative Assembly Debates, Sept 21, 1955

  • "How does the Malay in the kampong find his way out into this modernised civil society? By becoming servants of the 0.3 per cent who would have the money to hire them to clean their shoe, open their motorcar doors?" — Lee Kuan Yew in the Parliament of Malaysia, 1965

  • If you believe in democracy, you must believe in it unconditionally. If you believe that men should be free, then, they should have the right of free association, of free speech, of free publication. Then, no law should permit those democratic processes to be set at nought, and no excuse, whether of security, should allow a government to be deterred from doing what it knows to be right, and what it must know to be right... " - Lee Kuan Yew, Legislative Assembly Debates, April 27, 1955

  • "But we either believe in democracy or we not. If we do, then, we must say categorically, without qualification, that no restraint from the any democratic processes, other than by the ordinary law of the land, should be allowed...

  • After 44 years of indoctrination at school courtyards, classrooms and quadrangles; the PAP has now declared that the pledge is nothing more than an "ASPIRATION" not something that is to be held dear!

So my dear friends, what are you defending? An aspiration towards democracy, justice and equality? Which means none of these are yours as of right but will be conferred upon as when deemed fit.

    Clearly Sgeans have been hoodwinked!

I can't wait to leave! Thanks for making it an easy decision

  • @ripvankev And where would you go huh?

  • @1XMarksSpot I made that comment a year ago. It is obvious that orders have been given to engage all anti-PAP discourse which I hear is because the GE will be held soon. A year too late and perhaps too little too late too. I have already left if you must know and yes those who are still there will not vote for the PAP no matter what sort of gerrymandering and pork barrel politics the PAP is so fond of using.

  • @ripvankev That's good because The Monetary Authority of Singapore is a PRIVATE central bank if you've done the research that loans out money created out of nothing to the PAP - at INTEREST! The country you reside in now probably operates under the same system. Good luck.

  • Btw, thank you for the government, bringing in "FT" such as Li Jiawei for dragging our national flag on the FLOOR during the Beijing Olympics

  • He's a facist, he believes in eugenics.

He once said: " To maintain a 75% Chinese population, to ensure Singapore's prosperity"

What a dick, our country has too small of a population for racial segregation.

  • @macrick If I were him I would feel the same. And I'm not Chinese.

  • @macrick it's true though :)..

    Malays and Indians are useless.

  • @Thetrollmaster2000 Actually I'm not really entitled to reply, furthermore. My previous comment was made almost over a year. You are entitled to your view but my view is the same & I beg to differ from yours. Btw, my race is Han Chinese.

  • The Pledge is an oath of allegiance to Spore.

We pledge as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion,

to build a democratic society, based on justice and equality, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation.

Why recite the pledge if it is only an aspiration. It is an indoctrination. Not everyone can achieve their aspirations. Why are there special privileges based on race. Do we need decades, centuries to achieve a level playing field?
