it's really amazing and it's interesting the way that you think about "learning languages", not like Mathematics. :)

    gambarimasho! :D

  • It's very interesting to hear her talk in English, because her accent is in a mix between American, British, Australian and other dialogues that I can't name.

Also, as far as I can tell, her Mandarin Chinese accent is nearly perfect.

  • Hahahah, you are so funny yet so talented. Congratulations on your ability and love for languages. That spanish dialogue...perfect! I'm trying to learn italian, french, catalan, korean and russian. I have frase books and listen to radio in those languages. Do you think I should focus on one or two to make my learning faster? I speak spanish and portuguese so should I try learning the other romance languages before korean and russian? What are your thoughts?

I'm asking coz i'm really amazed at your excellent pronunciation here!!! • hola hi i speak a little spanish sistaification p. i`m the oldest 1

  • hey, you should check out arabic too since your name is clearly an arabic word. Perhaps the Quran might move you. You seem like someone who is very passionate and I love that. Actually your advice on learning languages as an alive discipline is really insightful. Through anime, and martial art I've learned so much nihongo-ga but I'm such a book learner! demo scochi wakarimas. ahahah . and ur french r is just intimidating... I'm enrolled in a french course this semester. Hope I fair well!

  • You have a spotless mind my friend!! I have a truckload of passion but every semester I get stuck after day one! I suppose its because we get bogged down on the grammar side of things.

lol @ Canadian french accent. I am in Canada and so one day when I overcome I will be speaking like that :) Do you speak any Bantu languages?

  • Girl, you're great, yes! I liked when you were acting using different languages, wow! Specially the one in spanish, is like if you were actually two persons, he he! Keep it upLeyla! After two years studying english and french at the same time (my first language is spanish), I found your videos here on youtube, and somehow, everytime you create a new one is of great motivation for me, thanks and keep'em coming!

    A plus tard!

  • tks for yours videos.

  • I am addiscted like you, i listen all the daggone time! Ven a ver mi video!

  • That's awesome ! I can TOTALLY get your passion for foreign languages ! I fluently speak both French and English, though French is my mother tongue language ! ^___^ And I actually can understand Japanese, and I also manage to speak it ! It goes the same with Spanish. And I have some basis in German and Korean.

Languages are just like ... my everything. I mean, it's my passion. I think languages represent cultures, that's what represent people, their way of thinking and acting.

    [1/2]

  • By learning a language, we don't only study words or sentences. We're also learning 'bout different histories, cultures ... etc. I think it's simply ... awesome !

Amazing ! Cuz, through this learning, I feel fully connected to other people and other countries ... yeah that's just incredibly amazing ! So please, keep recording those videos, it's truly enriching ! ^___^

    Kisu~~

    Byebyecycle ^_^

    [2/2]

  • Sorry, I forgot to say a thing :

You're clearly RIGHT about imitating people. I'm 16, and everyone tells me : How can you know all these languages ? !

But, what they don't understand, is that, besides bunch of work, learning languages is also VERY funny and child-ish ! I mean ... it's all about imitation, and trying to BE another person ! A person who can speak THE language you're studying ! I'm often speaking to myself in both Japanese or English !

[1/2, yeah A LONG COM comes again ! xD]

  • I can seem to be REALLY odd, but that's one of several ways to train yourself if nobody speaks this language around you ! ^_____^

    And I TRULY like what you're saying ... You're so true ... !

    [2/2]

    And THANKS ! ^^

  • Thanks, that's a good tip!

  • hey you are soo cool:D I also love learning languages, it is the best way to know more people ..and of course you'll understand more:D

I learn Dutch,Spanish,Japanese...and I've started learning Korean, Arabic, Chinese, Italian and I can speak English and Hungarian

XD XD OMG thats a lot

  • you're absolutely amazing.., love it!

By the way, why not in portuguese ? huh

  • lmao french-canadian accent

  • You did a great job congrats. I just wanted to make one thing clear though. Being able to sing a song or repeating a dialog in several foreign languages doesn't mean you're a polyglot. (I mean a parrot can repeat a word but does it mean it can speak?)

Mastering a language is much more than that and so far the only languages you seem to be able to speak are japanese and english (and French of course)

Don't get me wrong I'm no hater :)

  • And you have no accent in French, english, spanish, japanese or Korean !! Quelle est ta langue maternelle ? Et combien de langues parles-tu ? (c'est fou!!!)

  • Tu parles très bien français !! This is incredible you're like a genius !!

  • This video is amazing! Very inspiring for those wishing to learn any language. The advice given here is best... you have to live the language.

I'm learning French right now and I'm going to take your advice to heart. For me it was always about the "mathematics" of the language and studying the grammar structures and verbs, but I rarely actually practice the language.

Now I'm gonna try and find some French dialogues to listen to! :)

  • that is so cool

  • Wow, your Spanish is just perfect. Like someone else said, you do have that great Castillian accent. Bon chance !!!

  • Olala Layla! i just hadn't seen this video before!

You are just so amazing! My favorite dialog will be the spanish one though! MARGA!haha You are a good actor! "kureyonshinchan!" that one was so cute Layla! I kiffed it! haha

Oh, and thanks for the applycation he finally got it. Talk to you later Layla! bisous

  • LOL

    I loved (buon giorno).....cool!

  • Si hablas perfecto español. A mi me gustó mucho.. ¡Dale muchacha!

Also, I noticed that when you speak in spanish sounds really 100% from Spain. I love it!

  • hablas muy bien el español ,

    you speak very well spanish

    i too like languages ^^

  • And your Spanish, the MARGA story was really really nice. I love it like I can't believe!! It's really beautiful. Now I love Spanish, and that's thanks to you.

Your acting is divine. I wish I could act like you.

  • Wow! I'm Japanese, and your Gekidan Hitori is really awesome!!! I'm so impressed, and I'm really inspired.

English is my second language, too. And I should study it like you do, by imitation. And thanks a bunch for your French lessons, too. I love them all!

  • thanks i am taking this advice and definitely using it for my language studies. i really appreciate that!!

  • Do you use Assimil for all of them? If not, what else do you use?

  • I want to photograph you. so preety.

  • Me too, I'm a polyglote also. I don't even know why I have such an interest in learning languages, I just find it fun exploring a different way of speech. I've learned french in only a year! Right now I'm learning Spanish.

  • Your english accent is not bad, you can still tell that you are french though as it's not really english or american.

  • Your Spanish has a Spanish accent with a hint of Argentinan. I love it. It's awesome in an undescribeable way.

  • I want to see the video response.

Mark

  • wonderfull

  • Your spanich dialog is from a mexican movie: "El Inocente" starring Pedro Infante and Marga Lopez. ¡Lo hiciste maravillosamente!

  • gracias :)

  • your english accent...It keeps shifting between American, Some sort of irish or British. And sometimes it sounds African. Just pointing it out, perhaps you didn't notice and you'd like to be more concious of them and practice your accents more.

    Speaking various languages is fun!

  • WOW y yo q ni mi propio idioma puedo hablar :p

  • Leila Sempai ha sugoiiii

Merci beaucoup :-)

  • You seem to be bouncing back and forth between an American (suburban white girl) accent and either Irish or Scottish (perhaps even northern England).

  • Ou est le premier video ?

  • the video response

  • I know, but it says its unavailable =S

  • You can see it now! It's public :)

  • Impressive,Awesome!!!!!

    bien l'bonjour!!

  • This is awesome Leyla! Perhaps in part thanks to you, I have found myself going back to school after 13 years! French 101!

Your favorite dialogs are awesome as they carry many very active meanings and constructions. Have you seen my Hilarious: Money video? So far it is the only video I've done on languages, with other (spirituality and money) things mixed in.

Yes, would you please send me a link or post it here to the Japanese video you've been mentioning ? Were you imitating Magibon Miriam?

  • I'm not imitating Magibon, but Mari Yaguchi.

but the video has been taken down I'm afraid.

  • The Spanish dialogue reminds me to a Spanish soap opera... lol Mmm your Spanish accent really works! Très bien! Greetings from the neighbours! ;)

  • awesome

Merci!

  • Honestly, this is probably the most inspiring video i've ever seen.

  • Hi, I`ve been watching some of your videos and i like that you take the time out to teach what you know. i appreciate it girlriend. I`m a Jamaican female living in the United States and my dream is to one day become a translator. Some of my French i`ve learnt from you. Thank You. Thanks for your pointers about listening to dialouges and songs from different languages. I think you inspired me to want to learnt Chineese too lol. Again Thank you.

  • Trop fort.

  • Your spanish accent it's so great, keep on working, greetings.

  • extremely awsome, and you're cute too.how about portuguese?the brazilian one .could you leanr it?i sure you could 'cause you speak spanish.keept up.

  • Immitation! is the best way to learn languages, absolutely. And I can say, if you dont feel good immitating, you are not language-person. I speak after what they say in FRIENDS in English. I try to immitate some lines in French movies in French. It is FUN!

  • You are really cool! Have you tried learning German yet?

  • No. I don't really like German somehow.

  • Entierement d'accord avec MayDeefromBK tu devrais t'y remettre si tu as arrete!

  • Wow, I'm impressed. I know of several people who have a crazy love for languages (myself included... maybe even more of an obsession, haha), but many times they don't have great accents. After listening to your Spanish, I'm extremely impressed!! Almost completely perfect, I never would have thought twice about it. If you ever choose to fully learn spanish, you'd probably do really well.

  • u must have very high IQ , i bet ..=P

  • Haha,Im not laffin,Thats some next level stuff......

  • The other accents were all very convincing, but your english is obviously "foreign". You sound like a french person thats speaks good english.

I have never met a french person that could imitate an american accent convincingly; nobody has ever fooled me. I think it might be impossible.

Nice try though. I enjoy your videos.

  • Nice accentuation, so you have an good ear, but can you also read those languages? That's the real test.

  • Imitation is the way babies learn languages. It's an awesome way to learn languages.

  • Girl, you rock... please marry me =D

Gordon

  • To be honest, I don't make a lot of posts on peoples' videos. However, I feel compelled to express how refreshing it is to see another person who finds such excitement in languages. I'm 15 and nowhere near as far along as you are, but I am currently in French 3 and Spanish 1, and I hope to learn as many language as possible, and watching your videos is just plain enjoyable. Thank you for making them.

  • Very clever. Thank you. Your Castillian accent is very impressive.

  • "imitation"

I must say you have a natural talent for learning languages! I'm so impressed and inspired by you. I'll keep your advice in mind. Acting, imitating, listening, observing. Great video!
