@HarleySoftail91 If the program was able to run, you extracted it correctly. Like I mentioned though, each machine is different. Depending on your settings and hardware, this affects each computer differently. Some see a huge increase of fps, and others don't see anything. I suppose you're part of the latter group. I've been getting lots of questions as to when Version 2 will be coming out. Folks, I have every intention of releasing Version 2, but many things have come up, including a new kid, a new job, and a cross-country move. At this time, I can only speculate I should have Version 2 out some time by Christmas 2011. Here's hoping!

Man, I cant 'Extract' the files properly, I know the pass is wishkeymike but as soon as it starts 'extracting' it shuts down with an error at 25%, even though I do have all the 4 files and they are complete... they show errors but they seem fine... any clue what could it be? Thanks in advance
@chynolito I've never heard of this before, and no sir I don't have any clue why it would be doing that. All I can recommend is that you don't have any spaces before or after the password. Try redownloading them... could also be a corrupt file from a broken download. Hope this helps.
@WhiskeyM1ke Seems salvuccim has the same problem as me (CRC error while extracting)... the password I introduce is definitely ok, but on the internet I read it could be corrupted files, or something weird. It could also be problems while downloading but, Ive already dl them all twice, and the same problem shows up. Im on the third time dling now, but, I somehow see this will show up again, as some other guy claims to have the same issue as me, and there has been no record of 'CRC error' before

i think you should have the option to download the entire file at once. i personally would prefer that as i could just leave it overnight, my downloads tend to screw up if i try doin more than one at a time so i cant do all 4 overnite. and my download goes pretty slow from that site too :(

Well this didnt work at all. It made my sim look much crappier and I still get exactly the same frame rates....please explain. I will now convert the textures myself to DX3 and see if it works better but i doubt it. im running a 9800gt on a 4ghz processor with 4 gigs of ram.
@bakkerrich1979 You should really read the instructions first. I don't recommend using this if you have a decent machine... which you have. 4.0ghz processor/4gb RAM... cmon. That's a nice machine. People with better computers are not going to see any difference... as indicated. Sorry you had this experience.

There's nothing wrong with my old card...it's been fine up until FSX and GTA4. Until I have more games that require more power, it's a bad move to spend all the money. Even Empire: Total War doesn't need THAT much graphics power. I'll be downloading Ver2 in the interim.

Probably not. The conversion affects PC's differently. High-end systems are lease likely to see an improvement. If you didn't see any improvement, I recommend restoring any backups you created. I'll be coming out with two things in the next few months--- Version 2 will have DXT3 textures (more quality), and a default backup installer.
Wow. It's a wonder you can even run FSX, lol. I don't know then. Each computer handles it differently, so it's hard to say "You'll see a huge improvement" or "It won't even affect you." Many people have reported FPS increases... whether a lot or a few. I'd say maybe the reason you didn't see an improvement is because you're system can barely run FSX as it is??

Each machine is different. Some of the lower-end machines are the likely ones to notice a difference in FPS. It all depends on your hardware.

The four files are just one file, split into four parts. When you unrar them, they extract one file, which is the actual installer.
