In aviation it's all about air density. One could probably easily fly this helicopter high up in the mountains. Maybe even 3.000meters. It's just about how good you can see your model and what is possible at which location..

That is a real turbine engine. It puts out about 17 lbs. of thrust and costs ~$5000+. Thats just for the engine.
