I climbed everest in '04 from the Tibetan side. The feeling of being on top of the world is just magnificent. Sometimes I thought I was going to die and just a word of advice for anybody that wants to climb, it costs alot of money for a guide and dont look down or you wont make it to the summit.

so if the mount everest is the the peak you saw first, the position of the camera man could be the "südsattel" (sorry i just know the german word). but that's the platfor above the wall of the lothse. so in this case, the western cwm would be on the left of the camera man....

but as i said i'm not sure

This is taken from the north side looking up at the steps. The peak is not visable, its above the snow field in the first few frames of the video. Lohtse and the Western cwm are on the other side. You can also tell if you look at how the cornices are formed
