Is that a pieced together banjo, or did you buy it? Either way, the neck looks very similar (inlay, at least) to the neck on my "Ebay parts banjo". (I think I linked it as a video response.)
I watched your video "build a gas can banjo." I may never make one, but it was a real pleasure to watch you build it. The best part was just being in the shop w/ you while you did it. The wonders of video. An execellent video for sure!
@virgilita Well thank you.. You know I used to drive a truck to Huntsville out of Atlanta 4 days a week. One of my favorite drives, we used to cut off the back on Sand Mountain on those narrow mountain back roads and wind up in Rome Georgia, like slicing down the back side of a mountain in a Mack truck.. I loved it. Those were good times..
excelent ! my grandfather used to play and sing "0n the wings of a snow white dove" all the time on guitar wish ppl would adhere more to those simple great times, wish i would have picked it up he passed on back in 89'...
Thanks Mr, Rpeek .. I posted a video response with my go at it. I love the lyrics but spared everyone...I like how you use the drop-thumb technique, something i need to work on...Have a great day.
Rich, THANK YOU for playing that. That has been my favorite song to sing in church since I was a little kid, and I enjoy hearing it even when I am not in church. Have a great day. -Mongo
Its interesting that you happened to post this today. Today my stepgramps died off bone cancer and seeing the title of this I thought its some great coincidence. Thank you for uploading it :)

thanks rpeek! this really helps a lot.
quick question though... im having a little bit of trouble with the drop thumb lick at around 0:21. could someone maybe try and break it down?
TheGutfiddle 1 year ago
I'm going to do a drop thumb video later, but keep in mind dropping that thumb isn't necessary. The song works just fine without it..

Excellant ! Thats a great learning curve for beginners .

Don't fly away TOO slow, keeping up a minimum airspeed is real important.

Ratrods, house renovation, banjos from tin cans and some pretty impressive 'pickin'. Is that all you can manage to fit into your average day?
Very impressed!
