Sony DSC HX100V Full Test - review - Life is too short

Someone has a video of a 747 taking off with this camera, and it's so sharp, that I almost decided to take back my Canon SX40HS that i got two days ago. But after looking at this video, as well as others, along with ones from the Canon and the other big contender (the Panasonic FZ 150, which seems to be the highest regarded), it seems to me that the video quality of all three are about the same. The Sony seems great, but mine will do- then again, I'm going to check out a few more Sony videos!

I thought the point of time lapse videos was that it is a series of images, while you said this is just a video recording which was sped up. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi, i buy this camera but is really bad.i think, lost the money.

rthis camera have a great problem with brightnees and contrast.the color is no better .. test diferents way in video mode, may be, in iso, is the best mode, but really, a bad video ´look ´. we have an old sony w9 , but really, all the photos taked with this old camera are ´descent ´, but with the hx100v, in inteligent mode .is a lotery . do you know were can find a support web site ??? or a better super zoom camara option ??

i have baught this camera its video quality is good only when u see it in its high resolution lcd.

but watching in your laptop or computer thr is diffrence. Also when you edit them production is not good.. if any one has any sollution regarding problem occur in video recorde by this camera plz reply....

Time lapse is great , especially at the railway station- where the camera is slowly zooming out... at 0:45...was it done manually, or with in the video editing software ?

great video.. i can't get a firm decision of choosing between this camera and lumix fz150.. i like the crisp detail of the latter but I want the zoom and other features of this camera like the hdr... and i'm about to go mountain climbing this thanksgiving.. such a headache!
