Superb.Well done, I love the sound of your violin. Reminds me ( and I am not kidding) a Gasparo da Salo which belonged to a professor and I had the opportunity to play it many years ago. Specially in the low registers, the G string. Awesome. Congratulations.

The intonation is really accurate for all the extra shifting you put yourself through . . . I find it much easier to play the the rallentando portion entirely in 3rd position to avoid the shifting, but you make the slides work. Bravo.

You played Meditation Well. However, I feel it is a bit unnecessary to add in the part where you were tuning the violin. Do that before filming, or cut it out of the film. Also, since it's a piano/violin duet, film the piece with the piano player!

You played beautifully, though. The vibrato was a bit vigorous, but every violinist has their own taste. Myself, I prefer not vibrating so much at the beginning; I perceive the beginning to have a mellow start.

thank you for your comments...this recording was actually quite spontaneous as just a run through for a playing I was thinking of doing later in front of people...it was the second time through with the pianist (I don't think the pianist wanted to be recorded)...it is a piece I have often played in places like train stations for quite a few years...Jim
