Katrina here. I made a bad decision being in that band. The manager offered a wage to do the tour they were already committed to, and I agreed. It was one of the worst years of my life. We got together 10 years ago now ago do a gig - it was no better. Very depressing. Anne Marie was the singer - it should have been left there. Oh, and my teeth are fine - just bad studio lighting. To people who say they hate me, you do not even know me. To those who have been kind, thank you.

Singing styles apart, I think both ladies had their thing. Maybe Karina has a not so cool visual and hair style, but hey, she's in there for the song, not for the bone.

Still although Karina was better technically, Anne-Marie was more original in her vocal-codex. And more visual bone too

I've never understood that "Selling Out" "Fucking Commercial" argument. Surely the aim of any band is to sell as many records and reach as many people as possible. You should either like something or not and music shouldn't be judged on it being "commercial".

Thanks for sharing this. I never cared for Katrina in Skeletal Family, but after watching this and really focusing on the her singing, I've grown to actually like her voice a lot. Forget about Anne Marie and what Skeletal Family used to be, if only for a moment, and just... listen...

I Hate Karina, I Miss to Anne-Marie Hurst on Skeletal Family!

Too many people Anne-Marie was an important part of Skeletal Family. Knowing the band, I knew Anne-Marie when she was a fabulous dancer at the local Alternative Discos.

Anne-Marie had very many strong qualities (still does). Visually she was always stunning and her voice was fabulous at the screams and yelps that she so wonderfully employed on "Trees".

All-in-all though I think Katrina was a better singer.

It might be that she's too good. I liked Anne-Marie's rough edges it made them a little more punk-ish. To me this is almost a completely different band, not bad though. Reminds me a bit more of March Violets.

I made no comment on their 'musical ability' - such as it is - I was merely making the observation that it seems odd to call yourself a'Skeletal' family, when clearly you aint. I was referring to a photo in their local newspaper (Taken a couple of years ago admittedly.) I'm sorry that you feel all vexed and upset at my comment, but the fact remains that they are at best a mediocre combo whose success over their far more talented local rivals baffled a lot of people.

Just as a foot note for those of you not familiar with the various line-ups of the band, Martin is not the drummer on this footage. He had left, around the same time as Anne Marie, and joined up with Simon D from the March Violets in a band called The Batfish Boys. Martin is, however, in the reformed line-up. The name was not arrived at through any weight connection but from a David Bowie song.

I think Katrina had a much better voice than Anne Marie. She certainly had a greater range. Anne Marie was good and her image was better than Katrina's but for best Skeletal Family vocalist I'd have to go for Katrina.
