First time listening to this band, and i have to say AMAZING. It's like all my favourite bands mixed into one. although the rawness of the lead singers voice kind of drills through m head after awhile. :P
and these guys come to a music festival (Tells Bells) in a small village in Germany for 10€ the ticket. Well , I'm glad =P but they could do concerts in 10000 men stadiums. Once again I'm happy with it :-)
not saying that ratm ARE posers but in comparison, strike anywhere has more potential of going farther. and plus, its not just the SOUND that you can compare to ratm and SA but the messages sent. i just think strike anywheres message is more relevant to us in this time and age. ratm's message is more general. but come on now people its all subjective =P if youre an RATM fan or whatnot my bad haha.
@radioactivexkid I like RATM but I never understood why they recorded for Epic, which is owned by Sony, one of the largest corporations in the world. They were supposed to be anti-corporate, right? Seems a betrayal of their supposed socialist ethics.
Strike Anywhere seems much more genuine. They talk the talk, AND they walk the walk.
got to love a band that hangs in the crowd before the show met the lead singer and never even knew it untill i seen him on stage. Come back to Mr. Smalls strike anywhere
@daybreak1HP emo? apparently you havent heard of inquisition or maybe you'd have a different mental image of this band. this is tried and true punk rock son. or maybe i missed the emotional aspects of this song. that one line where he sings about loosing his girlfriend and loving simple plan is a dead giveaway...oh right thats not in here.
@daybreak1HP ok musically they arent fantastic but at least they have somthing to sing about, cant say that about all crust punks. yeah the song is meh but the message is dont get lost in ideas of patriotism and end up hating groups because some organization tells you to. thats not a shitty message
@skitzokid420 Ive seen em twice, the only thing I could compare it to was a super metal show, but the first time I saw them it was at a local venue with no rails and bodyguards or anything, most punk rock show Ive ever been to in my life, loved that shit,I see them anytime they are within 300 miles now.
so...the other night i went to ruiner's final show ever...and strike anywhere was the special guest that night and opened for ruiner...un fucking believable night.
Lmao, the guy that said lets see how many conservative fucks think these guys are libertarian. Did u mean liberal? Libertarian is a party, not having liberal views.
@radioactivexkid why does every one compare this band to rage? is it cuz the dreads? haha cuz their music isnt similar...just the political aspect but so many bands are like that
@loki116 well, rage is obviously influenced by punk rock and its culture. but they took more of the mainstream, public route by adding the hip hop to them. i mean, yeah theyre still a good band, but strike anywhere has the balls to say obama's a poser even if it meant they'd be called racist.
@radioactivexkid Have you heard Zack's old hardcore punk band? Back when he was Straight Edge. It's called Inside Out. That definitely did not hit the main stream. Haha.
i know you guys are so liberal that republican is a 4 letter word in your world, but i was glad that instead of the hearts and smiley faces i was expecting to see being sprayed on obamas you actually spoke the truth. ill never go to the left, and grew up right wing but after bush i have lost all faith in the two party system. we are in the midst of bushs 3rd term on fucking steroids. hope and change...(sigh)
@rayjoyner804 I wouldn't say that Strike Anywhere is so much liberals as vehemently anti-fascist, since liberal comes from the concept of a liberal use of government power. Besides, no matter where you stand on the political scales, there's going to be people trying to control you until we all stand up.
