Give you goosepimples to see that. Interesting to see the Fortress maneuvering so much. I guess with the close formations of WWII, they wouldn't have done that so much.  Great video.

I also think that the FW would have come from a high altitude attack in a real situation with awesome speed, Spitfires couldn't have followed her at that speed but mustangs might have made it a bad day with their pretty awesome climb rate.

WW2 Germany needed about 5,000 of these alone to begin with....

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass das alles erhaltene Maschinen sind. Und in Anbetracht dieser Tatsache, finde ich es eine großartige Leistung, dass diese Legendären Maschinen noch fliegen können. Meine Hochachtung für all die, die an der Erhaltung dieser Flugzeuge beteiligt sind.

Im Museum ansehen, schön und gut. Aber sie fliegen zu sehen, ist das grösste.

I can tell you right now that any German pilot in WWII with half a brain would never attack the -17 from the rear. Concentration of gunfire would be too extreme

@saintrobbie375 Exactly. Best thing was a headon into the pulk and than shooting out (heraus schießen) one heavy. The FW-190 with its four 20mm cannons was like built for this. With an approximate speed of 200 m per second you more or less had 1 second for a burst.

Die B 17 wird nicht mehr zu sehen sein und die Focke Wulf 190 erstmal auch nicht, alles die diese beiden Maschinen zusammen in der Luft gesehen haben, können sich glücklich schätzen, denn es war wohl einmalig.

@wind2jammer maybe ... this version has no guns an radio system so it is very light. Normally 130-140 km/h. The "touch down" of a FW 190 always seems to be a little bit bumpy. In old films and today I never saw a soft 3 point landing.

Noch hattest du keine Probleme damit, selbst die B-17 war letztes Jahr auf

der Hahnweide. Nur mit ner fliegenden B-24 ? da musst du schon in die USA

reisen. In dux steht eine im Museum - aber die fliegt nicht mehr !

@rodfleck The Spitfire was the first plane to escort the B17 so half of it is correct. Except for the P40 of course :)
