Silly Silly little man, That's right Alan Greenspan should not suffer at all. They had no choice to give those loans out. Stay stupid its looks good on you.
I hope you did a follow up now that there is proof that AIG and sachs where betting and insuring against all these bad morgages? that fact that they made billions off the colapse. Funny how you are so against obama but you seem to not blame 8 years of bush? maybe you should work for Faux news bush is the one who gave the billions to the banks. Obama is so lax toward these banks its disgusting. End of capitalism, I did not know that greed and destroying the world economy was ok.
@elsquibbs Clinton wanted more people in houses and pushed banks so were told to stop being tight asses. The problem is banks got greedy and started giving morgages out to people who they knew could not afford them. If you ever bought a house you would know the process a good bank goes through making sure you can actually afford a house. These pricks gave out loans based on a floating rate and when the rate went up POP. Granted it is common sense not to buy a house you cannot afford. Greed
Unfortunately it's NOT common sense these days to not buy a house you can't afford, and that is a huge part of the problem. If banks didn't make enough loans, end redlining, etc., they were threatened with losing their rating. Gov't dabbling in this industry created an artificial expansion of credit which helped drive this whole thing into the ground.
can you explain how the government forced banks to make bad loans? did the government force the banking industry to do naked default swaps or come up with complex derivatives in order to make gigantic bets with one another that collapsed the financial industry? please explain =D
But not the people who are enthusiastic about making a good business. If they are prosperous, then the commie gov't will just take away their hard-earned cash.
In the USSA no one has any motivation to make lots of money. Then you get an entirely poor population. Socialism hasn't worked in any country yet!
Thats what the soviets did. The USSR was capitalistic. The military was protecting the rich 5% of society (like in the USA).
But 50 years of hypnosis have tricked you people into believing that the soviet union was the manifestation of communism. Lol. USSR was as close related to communism as a cow is to the first moon landing. You folks believe everything.
Trotskyite bastards started collaborating with Nazis to make Stalin look bad. The Holodomor never happened, the pictures were taken in 1912-1913, when a famine happened because of the Tsars.
Yes poverty is always the poor people's fault let's blame the victim hey rape is the victims fault she was asking for it by being a woman!
Reminder: The money spent on the military could be used to give every American citizen basic health care. In fact it could do a lot of things that could make this country great. But no we spend it on killing foreign people oh well.
I have a hard time believing any bank was forced to write bad loans. I believe it was trickle-down greed. The broker wanted to make his commission, the bank wanted to make a profit by selling it to another bank which wanted to earn interest on the loan. Everyone had a had a motivation to pass the loan. The government merely eased oversight to allow it to happen,, but didn't force it.
Good job, you can read a headline. Now, can you read the ARTICLE?
After that, your premises are incorrect. The government never told them to make BAD loans, they told them to make loans. Republicans made it so that it'd be more profitable to make bad loans.
Okay try a little critical thinking, if not deductive reasoning. Of course the government did not issue an edict which read specially to write "bad loans." What the government did under Carter and Clinton was they must write mortgage loans to people who would not normally qualify under sound banking policies. Janet Reno (AG for Clinton) threatened the banks with legal action. See no mention of "bad loans," just bad policies forcing the approval of "bad loans."
From what I understand, Clinton admin wanted them to give them mortgages, but only put in place rules to make it so they got only mortgages that they could eventually pay off (interest in all). Near the end of his administration, he caved to the republicans trying to appease them and relaxed these requirements.
Now please think about what you wrote. Why would Clinton put in rules to where people will get loans only if they can pay them off when that has been the policy of mortgage loans since the first mortgage loan was written? Clinton and them thar Democrats like Barney Frank insisted banks write those loans to the disadvantage to get poor people into homes thus securing their votes.
I love it how people like you defend the rich elite, as if you were a part of that class. This distorted type of thinking continues to plague the citizens of this country. They care more about "virtue", LOL, then they do about their own lives. It is because of this type of thinking that there will never be a revolution in the US. THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BOW AT THE FEET OF THEIR MASTERS, NEVER QUESTIONING THE ETHICS OF THE SYSTEM THEY SUPPORT.

The government forced NO-ONE to give loans....do a little reseach before writing such propaganda. In a time when many refused to believe there would ever be a real estate bust writing bad loans was BIG BUSINESS!. Yep, collect down payments and fees...repossess and then have a property that increased in value to sell to the next sucker. When property values slide....your preditory model fails..
I don't think it's right for the U.S. Government to say how much an executive which made money on their own WAY before the government interfered, I mean, on their own risks, their own selves to pay for any fines incurred, to take on ALL the risk and for them to say "sorry, this is all you get because you don't deserve THAT much". I pull up my red flag on that issue.
It's ironic that these businesses basically were badly managed, which is why they needed a bailout by the government in the first place, and now these same businesses are not going to be allowed to attract the best managers and CEO's that could turn their bad business practices around which would lead to them paying back the money they borrowed from the government.
A conspiracy theorist would say that it is a ploy to keep them under the thumb of the government.

1. Do you agree with Barack Obamas decision to close the dentition center in Guantanamo Bay and move some of the worlds most dangerous terrorists to the United States?
2. Are you in favor of FBI agents reading Miranda Rights to high value terrorist detainees captured on the battlefield as the Obama Administration has ordered under the new and little known global justice initiative?
3. Are you in favor of the United States opening up talks with brutal dictators and human rights violators in Iran, Cuba and Venezuela?
4. Do you agree with the Obama Administrations plans to cut funding for many of our major weapons systems, including missile defense and the F-22?
5. Do you believe Barack Obamas statement of indignation after North Koreas nuclear test on Memorial Day will deter the isolated regime from moving forward with its nuclear program?
13. Do you support the Obama Administrations decision to offer $900 million to Hamas, a recognized terrorist organization, to rebuild Gaza?
14. Do you approve of the Obama Democrats plan to give more than $100 billion in taxpayer funds to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) even though that money is likely to end up in the hands of tyrannical regimes?
15. Does the possibility of a nuclear Iran worry you?
5. Are you in favor of granting retroactive Social Security eligibility to illegal immigrants who gain U.S. citizenship through an amnesty program?
6. Are you in favor of the expanded welfare benefits and unlimited eligibility (no time, education or work requirements) that Democrats in Congress are pushing to pass?
7. Do you believe that Barack Obama's nominees for federal courts should be immediately and unquestionably approved for their lifetime appointments by the U.S. Senate?
8. Do you believe that the best way to increase the quality and effectiveness of public education in the U.S. is to rapidly expand federal funding while eliminating performance standards and accountability?
9. Do you support the creation of a national health insurance plan that would be administered by bureaucrats in Washington D.C.?
10. Do you believe that the quality and availability of healthcare will increase if the federal government dictates pricing to doctors and hospitals?
11. Are you confident that new medicines and medical treatments will continue to be developed if the federal government controls prescription drug prices and sets profit margins for research and pharmaceutical companies?
12. Are you in favor of creating a government-funded "Citizen Volunteer Corps" that would pay young people to do work now done by churches and charities, earning Corps Members the same pay and benefits given to military veterans?
13. Are you in favor of reinstituting the military draft, as Democrats in Congress have proposed?
14. Do you believe that the federal government should allow the unionization of Department of Homeland Security employees who serve in positions critical to the safety and security of our nation?
15. Do you support Democrats' drive to eliminate workers' right to a private ballot when considering unionization of their place of employment?
1. no 2. yes 3. yes. 4. yes 5. no 6. absolutely not 7. absolutely not 8. absolutely not 9. absolutely not 10. depending on how they do it 11. Wouldn't need it if the Gerson Therapy was legal in North America. 12. I don't know enough about it to comment 13. I don't know enough about it to comment 14. Yes. 15. No.
Really? So you don't think NFL and NBA players are overpaid? Making millions and billions of dollars to catch and throw a ball around?
You don't think these "executives" on Wall Street and in big companies should have a cap, when they take home millions of dollars while the average american works harder and will probably never SEE that amount of money?
If the players are worth that much, why not? If u still pay for a jacket w/ a pirate on the back or a baseball cap w/ an NY, why not? I don't but others do. So long people buy merch. and pay for seats, they will pay for their salaries. If I was an artist and able to sell a piece for a million, should someone come along and tell me not to sell it for over a thousand? I know, it's not a salary but you get the idea. I don't really watch the pros but so long as they can draw in the crowds...
Banks traded Mortgage-backed securities not because the government ordered them to do it - they did it because they THOUGHT they were making money, despite not understanding exactly what they are packaging together into securities. I think we all know the result of that gamble.
btw, there is a $26 trillion dollar market that the investment banks are now considering tapping into - securitizing life-insurance policies.
If you ask me, some of the politicians wanted Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to push the banks into the subprime mortgage crisis just so that they can take over. The ones that didn't but still allowed Freddie and Fannie to do so are just incompetent.
i want some free money too.

So were the Kennedys and Fords.........all the same!

Obama is related to Ford. Kennedy was assassinated because he did not have the Presidential Bloodline like Lincoln. You just said something just to say it. And, have no clue what is going on.
TheStormchaser1 2 years ago
FYI, both Ford family and Kennedy family were Nazi supporters back in WWII, learn your history, read some books please. Your comment is embarrassing!

Really? So you don't think NFL and NBA players are overpaid? Making millions and billions of dollars to catch and throw a ball around?
You don't think these "executives" on Wall Street and in big companies should have a cap, when they take home millions of dollars while the average american works harder and will probably never SEE that amount of money?
ItsReallySteve 2 years ago

I think we all know the result of that gamble.
btw, there is a $26 trillion dollar market that the investment banks are now considering tapping into - securitizing life-insurance policies.

i think politicians should have a pay cap so they know how in average american feels.

Although I'm not an American... this guy is kind of - 'hit-and-miss' for me.
Some issues he shows brilliance... and others, you'd swear it's paid spam. Honestly... overall, I think he's ok.

If you ask me, some of the politicians wanted Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to push the banks into the subprime mortgage crisis just so that they can take over. The ones that didn't but still allowed Freddie and Fannie to do so are just incompetent.
Great video!

I strongly doubt anybody like Barney Frank will ever accept his mistakes.
I also doubt the same leftists will ever trust anybody apart from bureaucrats. Communism should have been like that.
