@docthewatchdog yeah. it's a shame she didn't voice for seasons 2-4. it's understandable since she's pretty much a theater goddess. rita and runt would have been less minor characters too if peters wasn't so busy. i thought the rita and runt episodes were really underrated. it's upsetting how they are only in the first season.

This is why A! started to slip in the last of the FOXs and WB episodes, they just stuck with the "popular" characters and the Warners and gave no one else any time. (I guess since BP was/is a busy lady she couldn't be there to do Rita all the time also...)

weird - why are there beauty and the beast references? The beginning looked the opening of the movie, and the song at the end sounded like the theme song for the movie; which runt acknowledged with his "I hope we don't get sued" comment.

Anyway, sad to see them go. I hoped they would have found a home before they got cut, but that was a good end.

I think the reason for why they stopped making Rita and Runt episodes, was because it was hard to come up with new songs for each episode.

That is true since they parody a lot of musicals. This particular episode parodies the songs of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast".

But it has also to do with the fact that of all Animaniacs characters they were the least popular. While the episodes of the other characters used mostly repeated gags and jokes , R&R stories had something different. That is why proportionaly they had the most good episodes.
