  • Your so Very Welcome Lighting Stash!

  • what was that song in the beginning?

  • "get down Saturday night" sample...i think

  • WHY THEY STOP DOING MUSIC?

  • @DOGPOUND05

Probably some issue with their Label or something. Or maybe they just did not

sell enough, with the singles Get Gone, & Whatever.

Ugh, I hate it when Labels just screw amazing Soul And R&B Groups like Ideal,

as the entire Album is tight. It was more than enough to justify more Albums from

    them!

  • great music, screw these manufacturer talentless so call entertainers these days.late 80's early 90's are the best R&B groups.......

  • The 15 people who voted down this video have no idea what real music is and need to have their ears cleaned out, because this joint is bumping! I mean BUMPING! And this song is so much better than any of the garbage they are coming out with today! I graduated from high school in 2002 and it seems like after I graduated music just started going down hill. Ideal should have been a huge group, but instead they would rather promote people like Lil wayne, T-pain, Akon, Drake and Souljah boy, SHM!

  • @BlaqueReign25

They are probaly too ignorant to understand real Soul And R&B. They listen to

another Genre, or are too into the R&B/Pop crossover bs out now. Either way, they

stance is deemed void because this is all about moving, & dancing with that

other gender that you are attracted to, & overall willing to do what that other

wants to do, as long it is spending some time with them! Even if they are not into

R&B, the message in this Video can apply to those that listen to other Genres.

  • ....continued

I feel that real Soul And R&B stagnated around late 2004, wtih a lot of crap coming

    out.

PS- I too graduated from HS in 2002!

  • @LightningStash I agree with you 1,0000%, I know that when ever I hear this song I just want to get up and dance, its just so postive and puts me in a postive, good mood. Today's music just dosen't do that.

  • @BlaqueReign25

Precisely. Even the Music that my Parents listened had me loving, & even slightly

moving to them. E.g. (Marvin Gaye, The O' Jays) with Lyrics, Beats, Melodies,

& Subject matter. This is what I was fortunate to have been exposed to, & examples

like Ideal, & Montell Jordan was a classic example out of many other Soul And R&B

Artists, & Groups that I got the chance to not only hear, but appreciate.

  • ....continued

That feeling is just not there with today's R&B Music, because the above criteria I

listed is absent in the Music!

  • @LightningStash I'm the same way, I love the music that my parents listened to, my dad was a big earth wind and fire fan and he made me one too, I was fourtunate enough to see them in concert, best concert I have ever seen. Its so sad that music is all about money now and no one does it for the art, the passion or for the sheer fact that they just love it, its all about dollar bills now. Some of the subjects they talk about now are so vile and disgusting, I miss when they talked about love.

  • @BlaqueReign25

I hope it does return to the way it should have been!

  • @LightningStash Me too because I miss it, sometimes I think if only I had a time machine.

  • @BlaqueReign25

I wonder if that feat is possible, as many Film Producers had envisioned from past

Movies. E.g. Back to the Future!

But for real though, I hope the state of R&B Music returns to it's original roots!

  • @LightningStash I wonder that too, with all the other technology we have maybe some scientist is working on time travel too. I hope that as well, because R&B is not what it used to be. I had someone tell me the other day that Justin Beiber is a great R&B artist and they had nerve enough to get offended when I laughed and said your kidding right? i just laughed and shook my head.

  • @BlaqueReign25

I just looked up this Guy, & found out he is R&B/Pop. No different from the other

R&B/Pop crossover Artists out there, fitting into the typical rehash cycle that has

forced me to listen to previous Soul And R&B Artists. Tell your Friend to listen to

'real' Soul And R&B Artists, & Groups.

Which ones do you listen to? I can Message you the ones I have, & still

    collecting!

  • @LightningStash That is exactly what he is, can't remember the last time I listend to the radio. And to think Usher discoverd this guy but he let the great R&B group he had get away. I will defintley have to school my freind, lol.

  • @BlaqueReign25

He did? I will tell others the exact same thing too, there are better Fish in the Sea,

music wise, LOL! But yes, please do that to keep real Soul And R&B going. Now that

you mentioned it, I do remember him discovering a particular R&B Group a few

years ago. What R&B Group was it?

  • @LightningStash Yea the name of the group was One Chance, they had that song Look at her and another song it was a ballad the name escapes me at the moment. But I think it is imporant for people to keep real music alive. I heard a great quote on the monique show tonight, Leelah James was on there she said " You shouldn't have to sell your soul to have a hit record" and I thought she was right, if you have talent you should just let that speak for itself and not have to sell out.

  • @BlaqueReign25

Spot on. And Leelah James is absolutely right with that statement! We must do

something about the state of R&B Music.

  • @LightningStash That is so true, I think Entertainment in general needs to be taken back even in movies and t.v, I would much rather watch old epsiodes of the cosby show then some show about Ray j finding love or some show about people eating worms for money.

  • @BlaqueReign25

Hhmm.... I can agree with you on that score!

  • @LightningStash Yep, I think if I see one more I love you show, i'll scream or just turn off the t.v all together and just read a book.

  • @BlaqueReign25

LOL, I would hate to see you all pissed off, & whom your rage will affect!

  • @LightningStash LOL, i'm not very nice when i'm pissed off, lol I might throw a t.v or too, lol. just kiddin

  • @BlaqueReign25

    LOL!

  • @LightningStash LOL, did you look at the BET Awards on Sunday?

  • @BlaqueReign25

Nah, I did not. What happened on the Show?

  • @LightningStash Most of the show was a cookie cutter awards show with some of the preformers such as Nicki Minaj preforming 3 or 4 times, but the best parts of the show, was the awesome tribute to Prince and when El Debarge preformed. Patti Labelle sang Purple Rain for Prince and she sang her tush off and she kicked off her shoes as usual, Prince caught one of her shoes then held it up for everyone. El Debarge sang as well, he sang some old songs and a new one. Chris brown did the tribute for

  • @BlaqueReign25

    Okay, sounds quite interesting though.

  • @BlaqueReign25 ywhat i found interesting is that, everybody knows that this BET awards show wasn't the same because The king of HIp/Hop and the Queen Bey(Beyonce) wasn't there and we all can tell when their not there!!

  • @Beyoncefan1000 That is true, you can tell when an awards show is missing something, wasn't J on tour or something I can't quite remember and I know B is on break for awhile.

  • @LightningStash MJ I must say his dancing was not bad, I don't know if you've heard people talking about it, but when he sang man in the mirror he got really emotional and started crying. Queen Latifah was a good host as well, she was funny. Other than those things I can honestly say you didn't miss much.

  • @BlaqueReign25

As in Michael Jackson? Was there an official Video to this Song? I got to check it out

    to see these parts.

  • @LightningStash Your right as in Michael Jackson, there should be a video somewhere here on Youtube, i'm sure someone posted a video as soon as it was over, I haven't saw one yet, but I've been looking, you might try google as well. Let yoy know if I find it. But it was interesting in some spots, found myself changing the channel a couple of times, but I always wound up turning back, because there was nothing else on. Certainly better than the MTV awards.

  • @BlaqueReign25

    I will do, thanks BlaqueReign25!

  • @BlaqueReign25

that's like someone saying wocka flocka is a good rapper

  • @Tha704Hustle LMAO! The name Waka Flaka is hillarious in itself, not to mention the music is terribal! If someone were to tell me that, I would probably pee my pants from laughing so hard! That's like saying Souljah Boy is a good rapper or Lil Jon.

  • ahh the good n bad times lol

  • I miss MUSIC like this...

  • love this joint!!!

  • THIS BRING BACK A LOT OF MEMORIES

  • i love this song memories lol

  • I used to love this group even though I was like what I think 12 when they came out lol could've been a few yrs older I don't remember

  • i like how they used the same beat for jaheim-anthing, Next-Wifey, and this song. this still is the jam

  • ahhh...summer memories....time goes by so fast

  • What happened to these cats?

  • This album was on heavy rotation for like 2 months, lol. I can't believe that this is already TEN YEARS OLD. Where has the time gone?

  • @koolaidandcereal Tell me about it.

  • this was my shit!

  • This joint brings back real good summer memories 2000............wow love this

  • 4got about them I used 2 love Ideal

  • nice song and video RL is the man.

  • COME BACK OTU WITH SOMETHING LOVE MYRA

  • I hope Ideal make a comeback they were such a great group. They have a nice album I thought they would be a big hit.

  • @DaGlowingElement - I thought the same thing but my only guess is people don't know who did the song as Ideal never followed up with more hits.

  • 90's Jam ya. Base Bar hard!!! The good old days ya....

  • this is 2000

  • the sample is from Oliver Cheatham' s Saturday Night, just pitched down some.

  • How does this song have less than 500,000 views? Even if u combine the other upload of this in the "Related videos" section, its still less than 500,000 views o_0.

    This was/is a party classic.

  • This Group should have got more

recognition for their Album, because it is

    a damn classic!

  • This song has a 90's feel. Always thought it was much older than '00.

  • base bar.. lol

  • they did the south side @ 3:43 represent that City of Houston....

  • the beat is smooth , thats when music was good its all comercialized now!

  • @jagster31878 JUISTIN BEIBER BITCH

  • @jagster31878 it also super commercial back then.the difference was, creativity was abundant back then.yeah the good rnb stopped right between 2000 and 2001

  • @jagster31878 who you telling

  • @jagster31878 yea it's the slower beat of Oliver Cheatham Get Down Staurday Night

  • Me & Husband's Wedding Song.

  • .... Yooooo this used to be my shit back then,,, when i was 14 years old dating a 19 year old african.... boi this is my JAAAAMMMM>...

  • @ambi912 I never really got into this song

  • @jummyberry it features RL from next

  • we miss so bad old school music that was the best time for that kind of music :) with jon b ; shaila prosper chante savage teddy pendergrass ; nora ; deborah cox and more

  • Lil Mo was one of the hardest working artists during this period.

  • aside from being in the vid, what else was rl's connection with this group? and the lead singer sounds so much like one of the two guys from lo-key, ramsey i think his name was!?!?

  • I think he produced it

  • this is my shit wonder what happen to them

  • they stopped

  • houston, already!!! this is a classic!!!!

  • H-TOWN IN THE BUILDING!

  • duh, its not h town, you div

  • @krokaz Im sure they meant H-town as in Houston not the group!

  • omg rl is nefu da don pops

    queenpen +rl =nefu da don

  • The group member that's was cleaning the bar in the beginning my sister went with his brother a while bak

  • I cant believe it will be 10 years since this jam came out. 2000-2004 i think were the best years of R&B and Hip Hop. Stars emerged such as Usher, Jagged Edge, Ciara, Beyonce, Lil Jon etc. There were a lot of songs like this one that were very underated. Others include Monica: "All Eyes On Me", Blaque: "Bring It All to Me" and Koffee Brown: "After Party."

  • That Nigga Kay Gee had Hits in his stable from 97 to 2002.

    Koffe Brown

    Ideal

    Next

    Jahiem.

Every big Single they had Kay Gee was on the boards. I know he still got in him so where to save us.

This was the Jam in 2000.

  • i been trying to figure out who made this song for a min! Its a shame that I'm only 24 and all the music i like is during the old school at noon...quality music died wit the Twin Towers

  • 1:26 is awesome;Respect!

  • Its funny how music is the most nostalgic thing for me.Like i can listen to this song and it reminds me of 1 of the best summers of my life.I think in order for good music 2 become prominent again its going to take r&b groups like this and the 1's of the 90's.If u notice Music got shitty when the R&B groups went away.

  • It so weird that this was 9 years ago!!! This is when music mad up get put your chair and move that azz!!! I so wish music was like this now....Cuz some of the stuff out now...."Kiss me through the phone".. is complete trash!!! Not knocking his hustle but seriously...He will not be in the Hip Hop Hall of Fame

  • when r&b still had feeling to it...

  • ahhh ! I remeber this songg :)

    goodtimess goodtimess

  • I got lucky...I mean I was in the 8th greade when all the good R&B started coming in. I am 23 now and try and tell the younger cats about this and they look at me like I'm stupid lol.

Lucy Pearl ft q tip- You

    Great hits never die!

  • Dang!!!!!! You got the jams on here!!!!!! I remember ALL of these hits!!!!! Yes!!!! Nobody knows what I am talking about. It's good to know that somebody REMEMBERS! LOL

  • Heh, I was in the 8th Grade too when this Jam dropped the summer 1999 I believe. Wow, I was feeling this Song, how they continued to play it every few days on MTV Base. And to hear their songs again from their Album in 2007 made my soul feel great. I yearn to find out where I can get the rest of their Music.

How I wish quality R&B like this was still

around. And I am 22, going on 23.

  • Still as good as ever!

  • Damn! 9 years ago? Time flies...

  • this song is sooooooooo 2000
