  • yea i was in a venue where they had me set up right in front of the dining area for this charity rummage sale. i ended up taping into the overhead speakers that were also in the lobby. my tops were plenty quiet, but there was no way around keeping the bass quiet.

  • Good stuff

    Very important info

  • Awesome video man... love the info :)

  • Great Videos .. Nice usefull information .. Keep more videos coming!!

  • At 7:00 you mentioned tapping into another's sound system. I tapped in to a house system at a club in Hollywood for a wedding and did a successful sound check with the resident DJ there, however the day of the wedding the resident DJ didn't show and the owner insisted on doing everything herself, but she was not audio enclined. Very distorted sound and cordless mic didn't work for the wedding singer. I'm never trusting a gig to someone's else system again!!!

  • Go Ducks >.> lol

  • NICE!

  • Great Buddy - Really Great.

  • Goodday dear Rick. Could you pls tell me about those speaker stands, and how they manage to go that high? Is stability an issue here?

  • @christonika The Ultimate stands are rated to support up to 150lbs. They are the best stands out there for quality, strength, etc.

  • @BassIsLoadedDJ Ok I found out that Ultimate stands are imported here in Greece, so I can update my "tripod fleet". I own one of the leading Mobile Djs companies in Greece and I'd like to establish a correspondence with you.

  • How did you have the wireless speakers connected so far away???

  • @MrDjkike I have a number of videos that show the wireless setup in more detail. Check out the agiprodj channel for more info. Thanks.

  • @BassIsLoadedDJ Thank you, I just saw the video...I began dejaying when I was 15 and now im 20. I have lean as experience on my own.. but I been watching your Dj Tips and I have actually followed them, and has made a better change on me. Thanks alot I apreciate you and to agiprodj

  • shouldn't the subs be in the corners of the room

  • @gmangigson Hey Gary - There is a benefit to sub placement in the corners. You have to take it on a venue by venue basis. Often times the corners of a room are so far removed from the dance floor that you lose the energy that you would have gained anyway. If you have the time, it's always nice to try setting the system a couple of different ways if you're on the fence about corners vs. coupling subs together. Coupling at least always gets you controlled/predictable energy on the floor.

  • @BassIsLoadedDJ true true. Makes perfect sense, I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.

  • Do you delay the K8's because it will take time for the sound to come for your main speakers, like a dlay stack at a concert

  • @123scottsdj At the distance you saw in the video, no time alignment is neccessary. The delay is tiny.

  • ok thanks i really liked the one with the wireless systems that you did recently. I am saving to invest in that.

  • Thanks for your vids they have helped me alot with djing and setting up my sound system. When are you going to do the 2nd bass video i cant wait to see it

  • @jah24javed The 2nd video is up now :)

  • Awesome video, lots of useful info. Thank you for putting these videos out.

  • Awesome video man. You really specify information. I had a question for you. How do you get your speakers to play wireless? I am in the works of upgrading my DJ set up and was wondering in that option.

  • @jiggaman714 Thanks for the comments! The wireless setup is something I've developed with agiprodj. Shoot me an email to rick at agiprodj dot com and I'll give you to scoop on how it works and what it is. Thanks.

    Rick

  • I just wanted to say thank you for all the great advice you have given in your videos. The sound systems I have and ideas I use are because of your videos. After searching for such a long time on what DJ systems to upgrade to. I seen your video about the K series speakers and now we own two DJ setups of them with KSubs. Thanks again for all your help!

  • @potentmedia Glad you've found the vids helpful! Don't forget to check out agiprodj for gear also. Best in the biz.

  • Man there are tons of dj videos/gig logs and I really think yours are the most informative and just overall the best. Professional all around keep it up. Definitely inspired me to step my game up with my mobile dj service.

  • @BIGyoks88 That's awesome man, I really appreciate it. You're right there are tons of gig logs out there, and I sort of glaze over when I watch most of them. I always try to put stuff out there that are the types of things that I would sit and watch myself. Best of luck with your company!

  • Great Video

  • Great videos and information! Keep up the good work. I'm curious but have you had a chance to check out the QSC KW series speakers? I would like for you to post some info on those when you can. I currently have the K Sub and I'm very interested in purchasing the KW 18" Sub. What are your thoughts on the new KW Sub?

  • @cccoy1 KW Series is on the production line as we speak. Units will hopefully start shipping first couple of weeks of July (fingers crossed). I'm hoping to get a pair of KW181's FAST. I think this series is going to be fantastic. A beautiful marriage of the K-Series in a birch cabinet. If you want, I can keep you posted on the KW series status via agiprodj. Shoot us an email over there and we'll keep you in the loop. sales at agiprodj dotcom. Thanks.

  • Hey, great videos! Quick question. When the dancing starts would turn the k8s (or the wireless speakers) down or turn them off or would you keep them cranking just like the system at you booth with the k12s and the Subs?

  • @funtimesdj1 It depends on the venue and the vibe of the event once the dancing gets going. Sometimes I'll kill them completely, other times I leave them to just barely fill the back side of the room, sometimes I keep them nice and loud. I study the folks that are hanging out on that side of the room. If they are diggin' the energy I keep em up...if they are looking wiped out, I bring em down. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.

  • Your videos are really Interesting.

  • Great video. I think I need a second set of speaker stands... Mine don't go nearly as high as yours... That seems to be the kicker for better coverage..... heads soak up a lotta volume! :^)

  • @MarkLeeCenter Hey Mark! Not sure how I missed your comment, but yeah get some good stands, the Ultimate TS-99B's are superb. Ultimate is out of stock and has been for quite some time, but I think they're due back very soon. agiprodj.com is a great place to get them! It always works so well to get the speakers up high. I supposes it's kinda like a confetti cannon. If you were to shoot it out, in what position could you get the most confetti (evenly) to the most people? Thanks for watching

  • Great Video like you attention to detail True Pro keep up the good work.

I do this as a hobby but still try to be professional and true to the cause. I love what I do and get the same smile on my face when I look at my setup after transforming a venue Thanks for the informative and Inspiring Vids

  • @TheMobileDJ Thanks Tony, I appreciate it. For what it's worth this all started out as a hobby that loved as well!

  • how did you do the wireless K8 transmit

  • @filipinorice See my comments below to MediaFriendZ

  • rick - that is a great idea... I often have large venues where the clients want to have some extra speakers in the back for fill and speeches... what are you using to broadcast wirelessly?

you should look at scrim king's also for your speaker stands!

  • @naveen4nse Hey Naveen...see my comments to MediaFriendZ on the wireless setup. Shoot me an email and I'll explain how it works. I've had a few guys ask me about the scrim king's and for some reason those just aren't my thing. Nothing against the idea really. Just not feelin' it for me personally. Plus I'd feel the need to show or explain it to a client beforehand, just in case they didn't like how it looked at their event. Again, just my opinion. No right or wrong of course!

  • Great post!

  • Great info, I done learned a lot from your channel ...Thanks keep it up

  • Hey Rick, Great Video...I really appreciate you taken the time you do to make these videos. Can you please tell us all how your setting up your wireless system and what your using to pull it off in a great sounding reliable way. I've always been unsure of going wireless, especially at a wedding, but If your using it, I'm sure when you do it right it works just fine!

Please answer this for myself and everyone else on here asking about the wireless setup.

    Thanks Rick!

  • @MediaFriendZ I feel like I'm one of the last to embrace going wireless with speakers-at any event. Those that know me understand I'm all over the wireless mic stuff tho. There have been a couple of very poor wireless solutions offered specifically for speakers. I haven't liked any of them. I work with agiprodj, so anybody that would like to know specifically how this done (and able to still sound fantastic) can shoot me an email there. The address is sales at agiprodj dotcom. Thanks!

  • @MediaFriendZ and by the way, agiprodj just flipped the switch on a new website this morning. If you try to email and it doesn't go through, just shoot me an email directly on here. Thanks!

  • Hey great video... I really appreciate your inside knowledge. My Question:

With the K8 & K10 having better "size of sound cone," why would I ever want to buy K12. Whats the main difference between k12s and k10, k8s etc...

  • @TheDjNvidia The main differences across the series would be overall throw/distance, coverage area, SPL, frequency response, and weight. The K12's are ideal for anyone that requires a higher dB for a longer throw, and a little better bass response (not to take anything away from the K10's or K8's, they do a nice job). Be thinking "School dance in a gymnasium = K12", "short throw but wide, spread out audience = K8" K10's are a nice in between. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    Rick

  • Please do a video on the Wireless connection to the k8's So far I have only seen the vocoder brand of wireless transmitters and they look a bit sketchy

  • nice one!

  • Great basics! Thanks for sharing!

    ~DJ Bo~

  • damn good video......i learned some stuff i would never would of thought of....

  • Great video Rick! And more great tips, great way to explain the setup.

  • Great vid, great advice, Thanks for taking the time to upload

  • Great video! I love the professionalism in all the things you do. Especially the chart you did with all the tables and the speakers angle. Furthermore, you get to do jobs in types of venues that I don't get to play at. So I can take your ideas and maybe use them for the events that I do.

What kind of wireless system do you use here?

    Best regards, Harlekin

  • Great video Rick, I appreciate the work you put into it!

  • what system do you use to wireless transmit ?

    Thanks

  • hey rick, nice venue! i've been there a couple of times watching cal games, but never in that lodge area. pretty sweet. i'm amazed at the wireless system. i didn't know that was an option. boy how i'd love to not have to run the extra xlr out to the gazebo during the ceremony. where can i find more info on that. i love my k8s. at first i thought it wasnt gonna be able to handle what i needed it to, but it has performed great. when ran in ext sub mode, it never peaks. thanks for the post.

    bb

  • Nice tips and video! small tip use a 32 band eq and if used properly you can put a mic in the speaker and not get feedback.

  • I think he runs his system wirelessly through that one shure box.

  • Rick nice tips! I really appreciate what you do. I will be calling you tommarow and ordering some of the things we talked about! I think as soon as you guys are a authorized dealer for scrim kings, your gonna be the first one to take some huh? lol

  • @sainifabulous there are better options than scrim kings! i can't believe people are paying that much for those things. it is so easy to make. if you don't want the hassle of making them, check out the stretchy screens instead. just a better product for the same price.

  • @BOBBYBLENDZ Thats the same price? i already have alot and getting more. but whats the difference? it actually costs more?

  • @sainifabulous i just like the way it covers the stand. life is 3d, and the scrims only cover the very front. the price is like ten bucks more for the scrims, but what you save on shipping from canada, or buying from hollywood dj in cali, plus tax and shipping, you will actually spend less for the stretchy screens.

  • can you make a video explaining how you wirelessly transmitted the back k8

  • Awsome setup can you show us your wireless setup for those k8 that is cool! Thanks Isaac.
