In a way its sad to see how far the Russians have fell, from being the 2nd most powerful to today, im not promoting communism but it would have been nice for them to still be powerfull, because then the US and Russia would have gotten even greater advances. Mainly because there would be someone else that is a contender, not exactly and enemy
In response to WVSKY's comment above, all sides have wasted billions in resources. The U.S, after Japan surrendered, sent all P-38 fighters to be destroyed, thousands of Jeeps, some new, were dunked at sea. The amount of waste is beyond description!
Soviet remains from a oppressed time. I have been in east northern Estonia and Paldiski and seen those abandoned russian complexses. What i dont understand though, is why Hollywood does not use these buildings and places for their post-apocalyptic movies. They would be such wonderfull locations to shoot in and not waste money on their half-ass cgi. Great video though. I gave you 5 stars.
its an air base, like any other. Just its old and not been maintained. The USSR had to build its military might, thats just how the world works. Are the people of Russia and the former Soviet union really better off now than they were back then?. Theres an immense amount of poverty and inequality now and oligarchs and gangsters get rich and fat.
On a personal note: This video in no way is meant to promote Russia or the Soviet Union. It's to show why the Soviet Union failed. Had the Russians done more for it's people, instead of building up it's military might, it could have been different. Finally, it should had left countries like Estonia alone. Those people never deserved 50 years of being under the Communist heel.
I love disco parties inside those hangars. :) And it's no wate of resources..it's just that It is not in servie for more then 15 years :/ thats why it looks so bad...

I've been there for the ladst 2 years ago. COol hangars for MiGs :) maybee Russia will use them again one day ^_^
