I agree. You know, now, it seems they force kids to just say the whole word, with no sounding out. There is this emphasis today on being really learned with scholastics, really quickly, without time to develop. That time to develop -which is missing now- was very much a part of early SS.
Leave it to Sesame Street to create a character out of a severely illiterate man with weight problems.

I just wish they would realize how the newer episodes are lacking that. I have no idea how they expect to teach them how to read that fast.
