  • Would you recommend this or studio sculpt for dry skin? Thank you:)xx

  • @musemimzy That is hard they are totally different- one i.e. s liquid/gel and the other is a powder. this is a more sheer finish and sculpt is more full. I hope that helps you decide.

  • I got this just the other day, and I loved it! It feels pretty light on my skin. I really want to try the face and body foundation though. Maybe next time

  • Hey Lisa, I watched this review before I went out to buy one - your vid. is great by the way - but I've been using it for a while now, and I think they've made changes to the foundation as it's was heavily promoted (relaunched??) here in the UK early in the year, but I've found the coverage etc different to what you've mentioned?? Do you know if there was a change, or it's just me?!

  • @tinaHL82 I checked and it seems that they have not changed the formula sometimes it is just is how we apply it or what brush we use!

  • Thanks! I'm going to try it out :)

  • Thanks for the great review, Lisa!

I just have a couple of questions for you and I apologize if they’ve already been asked, so here goes!

1.) Does this foundation oxidize after a while as I felt that way with Mac’s studio fix fluid—it kind of made me look “orangey” after a while?

2.) Did this foundation break you out?

3.) What application process do you think is the best for this foundation (brush—if so which one, fingers, sponge, etc?)

    Thanks!

  • @msbrowneyes786 no problem here you are:

1- it can but not as bad as the fix because the fix has powder in it- thats what causes the oxidization

2- yes it did break me out

    3- I use a buffing brush brush

    Hope this helps!

  • i really like this foundation. i've also tried mac's face & body which i like, the studio moisture tint which i thought was good, & studio fix fluid (i liked at first but it's not so good for my sensitive skin).

  • Im NC25 in Studio Fix Fluid- What shade would you think would best suit me in this Mineralize satinfinish foundation?

  • @aferr007 Ohh and in the Mineral skinfinish Natural??? i have to order online :(

  • @aferr007 I think the medium would be best

  • @Lisasz09 Thankyou so much for getting back to me but i dont know what you mean :( i think your telling me that i would be medium for the skinfinish natural??? What im after is the Satinfinish foundation and the selection range i have to choose from is from NC15- NC50 & NW20-NW50, sorry for any confusion

  • @aferr007 ohhh sorry for those I am not sure you should get color matched- the colors do not run the same as some of their others

  • Do you think this will break me out? I have ance prone skin, however I have used MAC powder blushes, a MAC Cremeblend blush, MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle and a Mineralized Blush as well, not to mention dozens of MAC eyeshadows, Paint Pots, Lipsticks and Lipglasses. However I'm scared to try a liquid foundation from MAC, as I've heard they clog pores... Help?

  • @LuckyNumberPeace I dont use MAC foundations (liquid) anymore. I do still use the studio fix powder though and love it. There are awesome many other great liquids out there.

  • @makeup707 yes I use it and it works fine and I am normal combo oily

  • Thank you! Great review!

  • will this be good for dry skin?

  • @georgeluffsmakeup yes it is

  • Hi I've seen a lot of foundation reviews and I have to say I love your reviews! You highlight lots of points that will relate to everyone and the reviews are so helpful. I bought the satin finish mac foundation after watching this and also the neutrogena healthy skin product after watching your review.

  • which shade are you using ?

  • @Carotcake1999 I am not sure that was so long ago- probably NW25

  • do u think this would be good to wear just everyday to school?

  • @ILOVESTARBUCKS13CGA yes! :O)

  • How natural does this foundation look on the skin?

  • @xxxmevxxxx it is good but the shimmer can make it look funny in daylight

  • Does this break you out? Because I returned the Studio Fix Fluid a few weeks ago and now my skin is almost completely recovered from breakouts! Maybe Mac foundations just don't work for me but I'm hoping this particular one will. I usually use NARS sheer glow but I'm starting not to like it for some reason. I'm not too happy with the finish. Maybe it's how I apply it. I'm going to order the Sigma flat top kabuki sometime this week and hopefully this will solve my problem!

  • @671cing MAC Liquid foundations break me out but not the powders! A great foundation is Guerlain in the gold bottle! It is a primer, powder and foundation all in one!

  • @Lisasz09 thank you! :)

  • will you look like edward cullen with this?!

  • @TheISABEL100 no! :o)

  • you have to shakeit your foundation if you dont want to see that spaces ;D

  • which shade do you wear?

  • @GinnyK101 I think then I was NW20!

  • Dies this havshimmer or sparkles like the revlon photoready?

  • no it has a slight sheen to it!

  • i went to mac for the first time today and bought this foundation aswell as the studio sculpt concealer, 190 and 195 brush. i'm really happy with the results, it gives me such a natural finish :)

  • Great review Lisa. You've fast become one of my favourite youtube gurus! :)

  • how do you apply the product? which brush?

  • it depends I use a bunch of different brushes- the 187, a flat top buffer, my 109 or a flat foundation brush like a 190! :o)

  • thank you so much for the revieuw! I had the studio fix fluid also but that one was why to much coverage for me so i think i want to try this out!

  • hha your so like me- as soon as i see an air bubble in a lip gloss or something- my OCD kicks in and I start to hyperventilate :)

  • Would you reccomend putting on with a moisturiser or just with a primer because i would think if you have oily skin this would add to that?

  • can I use this with my combination oily skin, my 190 brush and of course my MSF natural??

  • yes just make sure you use a Oil Control Lotion! :o)

  • wat brush do u use w/ it?187?

  • I use my sephora #55 or my MAC 190 brush! :o)

  • ty for the reply but it broke me out..had to return =[

  • WHAT SHADE IS THAT ONE NC20 OR NC25?

  • This was NW20

  • it dosn't make you break out at all does it? because some of the other videos said it made them break out a lot more. Please respond I just bought and haven't used it yet! please help!

  • I have not had any issues with breaking out but some poeple do have an issue with MAC liquid foundations! It depends on each person! I hope it works for you!

  • thanks for the video, i know your skin looks really flawless so you might not know this but i was wondering how it covers acne scars? i dont have very obvious ones, but some foundations make them look worse then if i wore no make up! thanks :)

  • This founation would make them worse i think because of teh reflective particles in it! :o( Sorry- Studio Sculpt would be best for you! :o) Enjoy!

  • I bought this about a month ago, along with my MSF natural, I moisturize, prime, them apply the Satin Finish, then conceal and put on my MSF, it stays on all day! Even in hot weather, I have combination skin, and this product never leaves me with an oily t-zone! I love it! I most def recommend this product. Awesome review Lisa, as always ;-)

  • yay! i am glad you love it too! :o)

  • i want to try this but some one told me that it has a little sheen to it???(that kind of thew me off im confused about what she was talking about) is that true?

  • hi,i just bought this product today and i use nc42,but i would like to know is this good to use at night parties as it gives low to medium coverage....??because i want something which i can use both at day and night.

  • yes this is great at night because of the low level of shimmer in it! :o) Enjoy it!

  • hi, i saw in another video someone said it includes salicylic acid in the ingredients. is this true, its not on the mac website

  • ohh sorry i wish I knew- it doesnt say on the bottle it probably said on the box but I dont have it anymore! Sorry!

  • thanks anyhoo, i went to my mac today and checked it out while i was gettin style warriors. it doesn't contain that

  • good to know! Thanks for letting me know also! :o)

  • Hey Lisa, do you still use this foundation? MAC just made a video featuring this foundation so I'm just curious about how you feel about it now that a few months have passed.

  • I do use it- I use all of my foundations I just go through stages. I use it more on errand days since it is a lighter coverage! :o)

  • I have my t zone oily and i do tend to break out here n there but i ordered this in nc 25 will it make me look cackey or dewy cuz thats not the look i want..should i use an msf with it cuz i need good coverage around my chin and forehead and i dont want it to look oily i have enough oil lol....xoxo

  • MSF's are great coverage and if doesn help with the oil! Good Luck! :o)

  • Hi there! i have a question. im currently using this foundation and i have very sensitive skin, i use some translucent powder to set it because if i dont, it will will wash off very easily once in contact with water. i wonder if that also happens to you? Also, i think that the translucent powder is causing some side effects on my skin (e.g. some pimples) My skin is naturally dry but i do have breakouts as well, i only get them cos i use make up on a daily basis. Is the powder bad for the skinor?

  • It depends on what powder youa re using, Some people have reactions to mineral makeup! It could also be the foundation- some people have adverse reactions to an ingredient in MAC liquid foundations! I hope you figure it out and I hope this is helpful! :o)

  • I really want to try the MSF, I got a sample from Mac, so far its been really oily on my skin, but i dont have oily skin. So, is there anyway to prevent the oily feeling?

  • Did you get the liquid Mineralized satinfinish or the Powder Mineralized Skin Finish Natural? The liquid has a shimmer to it so it will probably look oily. The MSF Natural shoudl control any oil sinc eit is a mineral powder! I hoope this helps you! :o)

  • How shimmery are the MSF natural and the MSF satin?

  • The MSF Natural is not shimmery at all- the satin foundation is more of a sheen on your skin like satin! I hope this helps you! :o)

  • Hi Lisa your skin looks amazing in this vid, I went to Mac yest and got samples of mineralized satinfinish. i'm gony try it for a few days to see if i have a prob with breakout's or anything.

Have u used bronzer over your foundation

    pam xxx

  • let me knwo what you think! I really like it and I do use a bronzer over it also! :o) Thansk for watching!

  • I've been using it for a couple of days now and no probs so far yeah! so i'm defo gettin full size, do u apply it with a mac brush? is so which one do u think is best? Is it laguna you are using in this vid? x

  • glad you like it! I use the 109 or the 187 to apply it, unless I am in a hurry then I just use my fingers! :o) Enjoy! I think I am wearing Laguna here or the MAC Neo Sci fi bronzer!

  • I know you love your MAC Mineralize Skin SatinFinish Foundation but there's another you have to try. It's Bobbi Brown's New Skin Foundation SPF15. It's amazing! It's for all skin types, the coverage is buildable from sheer to medium/full, it hydrates, helps the look of pores, helps conceal imperfections, it looks and feels lightweight and natural; just like your own skin but better. I got a compliment from my boyfriend yesterday which mean it's working for me. Hopefully you can check it out.

  • Thanks for the referral- I will put that on my list! Right now i am obsessed with the este lauder max coverage! :o) I will take a look next time I am in Nordstroms! :o)

  • this is my hg founation!

i working well for me so far

    thanks

so much for this review hun

    see you on twitter girl

    -paris

  • ohhh- I am glad you like it too! :o)

  • Hey Lisa I bought this foundation awhile back and I have not yet used it because I am not sure how to apply it. I was previously using bare minerals. I would love you to do a video on the application f this product. Thanks

  • i unfortuntely dont do tutorials, but makeupbytiffanyd does a great video on foundation application and it includes liquid- I am sure it will be the info you need. Thanks for watching! :o)

  • I have combination skin I guess? I have normal to sometimes dry cheeks and a little bit oily t-zone. Would you suggest this liquid foundation (the satinfinish) or studio fix fluid? I'd like a good coverage, so I don't know if the satinfinish gives enough coverage.. Anyway, thanks for your review :)

  • this is definetly not a full coverage I would say it is medium at best. If you are looking for a full coverage I would suggest Studio fix fluid or Este Lauder max Coverage(my new love)I have combination skin, but I like a full coverage so that is what i use. I use the Satinfinish when i just want a dewey look durring the days! :o) I hope this helps you-you can also try the Mineralized Skin finish in natural for great coverage if you liek a powder foundation!Great finish to it! Not powdery at all

  • Could you do a review on MAC face and body foundation? And an overview on your brushes!

  • I do not own the face and body foudnation. I dont really plan to by it- i have no use for it! I did an overview of my brushes that is posted on my yt channel. Thanks for watching!

  • Great review Lisa. I probably won't try it since I like a full coverage foundation but if I am ever lucky enough to not need/want some coverage, then I may try it.

  • Thanks girl! That is why I got it I am just getting to a point with my laser facials where I feel like I dont have to use full coverage unless I am goin out at night! So far I like this a lot! catch you on twitter!

  • Great review! I prefer a liquid over minerals too but I do love the MSF Natural as a setting powder. Unfortunately, I didn't have much luck with MAC foundation in Studio Fix - the undertones just don't work well for me- too orange.

I've got to try the EL foundation you've mentioned - I don't know if you've tried the Aucoin Skin Enhancer (great coverage but needs to be worked into skin) but I'm wondering if the EL is similar to it? Thanks for posting!:)

  • I have heard of the Skin Enhancer, but everyone I talked to said I wouldnt like it because it is heavy feeling on the skin. I have been looking for it but my Sephora doesnt sell it and I need to color match before I buy it online. El is a full coverage but light on the skin. I hope this helps you! Thanks for watching!

  • Great Videos Lisa!!...What is the mineralized skin finish natural like?...does it have shimmer?...I've used the studio fix powder....how does it compare to that?...thanks

  • There is no shimmer! I use to use SFP to set my makeup, but I found it became to cakey through the day, so now I use MSF and it gives great coverage and doesnt look heavy! I hope this helps you! Thanks for watching!

  • I found this settles into pores :( ..but i didn't use powder over it.

  • I use either my Mineralized Skinfinish in Natural or my Bare Escentials! I hope that makes it work for you! Thanks for watching!

  • Um why does it say "Skinfinish" as the video name but yet it says "Satinfinish" in the info box?? Which are you even reviewing?? o.O

  • I was confused about the same thing. Its the Satinfinish that she is reviewing, the title of the video is just mislabeled.

  • that is exactly what happened! Thanks for the response to them clearing it up! :o)

  • yikes! haha! typo in the title! Thanks for the heads up! I will fix it! Thanks so much!

  • I agree that this foundation is great for a lighter everyday coverage. My bottle has that air bubble too...wierd. Thanks for posting!

  • Thaat bubble it so weird! I dont know why it buggs me! haha! Thanks for watching!

  • Def gonna give this a try! I like the idea of "dewy" cuz its really nice! A very great and helpful review, thanx =)

  • I really like the dewey look durring the day you look so fresh with it! Thanks for watching- I am glad you enjoyed the review!

  • Another helpful review! I had this on my 'To Try' list for a while. I am looking for a sheer to light dewey foundation - this might be it!

  • I love "to try" lists! I have one also! I tend to try them and review them for a video which gets me to look closer at the products! Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • Aren't you gonna go with the flow and buy the MakeUpForEver HD foundation and powder? I can't wait to hear your review on it!

  • I had purchased it this summer and gave it a try for 3 months and I hated it and returned it. I love the HD powder, but the foundation didnt work for me and wasnt worth the $ if i hated it so much! Thanks for wacthign and commenting!

  • Thanks for this review!:)

  • Glad you liked the review! Thanks for watching I love doing teh reviews! It gets me to try new products and really take a closer look at them!

  • I hate MAC foundations, Estee Lauder all the way baby!

P.S I love your eye makeup here, really suits you, you look so gorgeous xx

  • I love my EL full coverage, but this one is good for day looks! :o) Thanks for the compliment and for wacthing!

  • im so sad! everyone raves about MAC foundation but it breaks me out soooo bad! sooo i'm still searching. actually i'm heading to Macy's to get the estee lauder u spoke about. u didn't mention it in this video so im worried u don't like it anymore!

  • That is a shame! I still love the EL and I actually taped this before I bought the EL. I like to use this one durring the days though still!

  • very helpful, i also prefer liquids, i'll be sure to try it. thank you!

  • It is a great liquid, but it is a light coverage and a dewy look! Let me knwo what you think! Thanks for watchign and commenting!

  • Great review. The MUA tried the MSF on me, but I felt like I didn't have enough coverage. Liquid foundation is definitely my preference @ the moment as well.

  • I like it for daytime, but i definetly prefer the full coverage foundations. I cant wait for the new one coming out by MAC soon! Have you tried the Este Lauder one? It is awesome!

  • I love your Reviews:D!!

  • I am glad you enjoy them! I enjoy doing them for everyone plus it gets me to try a new product! :o) Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • great and VERY helpful review.. what primer/base do you use for your face? thanks! =]

  • Thanks I use all kinds of products and I love to do the reviews! I use MAC Prep and Prime SPF 50 and I just taped a review on it- so stay tuned! :o) Thanks for watching!

  • Wow. Great minds think alike. I just started using this about four days ago and I am hoping I don't get any breakouts. My skin doesn't seem to agree with the other MAC foundations I have tried. By the way, I am off to get the Estee Lauder Foundation hopefully today. I cannot wait to try it:)

  • I like it for a daytime face much lighter and more dewey! Thanks for watching! Let me knwo what you think of the EL! :o)

  • Nice review Lisa! I still haven't tried the MAC foundations...hmm, I should pick one up soon =) Have a great day =)

  • Thanks girl- I am going to do your tag responses this week. I just uploaded another tag now that I tagged youi also! Tags are sometimes hard to keep up with! :o)
